    How to blend two images

    Introduction

With this little thing I will try to help you how to blend two images in one. I will be using a JASC paint shop pro 8. I reckon it's much easier to work with than photoshop. You can download it through torrents or buy the CD. Having a different paint shop pro will cause things to be slightly different. For example, the tools bar may be on a different place etc.

    So for starters..

Go online or look through your files for two pictures to blend. Or you can use the one I'll be using in this tutorial.
I'll be using these two images:

    what's next?
Now you go ahead and open paint shop pro 8 (jasc)

    Open a new file
    750x400 will do here.

Now, open the images in paint (the one you have on windows). You don't have to save the picture off google just to open it with paint.. just copy it will do :)
Copy the first image. Go to PSP and press Ctrl + L
You can see you on your right you have a new layer.
    Your screen looks like this:

Now do the same with the other image. Go to PSP and press Ctrl + L
You will now see there are two rasters and a background

You can change the name of the raster by double clicking it. Type in what you want and press ok.

okay got it, now what's next?

After that click on the button that moves the images and put one image on the other.

Using the move tool, your screen should look like this:

now comes the tricky part

Now click on the selection tool, and match your settings to mine:

After you have done that, click on the second raster on the right bar. (the second image you added)
Now select the part you want to fade away. Like this:
Click on delete to, to let it fade away.
    I clicked about two times.
If you click on the tiny arrow next to the selection tool
    [IMG]
You see it gives you three options. You can click on the other one if you like to select a part differently.
I use the freehand selection more than the regular selection tool. I find it easier.

    The end :)
The final image would be like this:

Now you have learned how to blend two images into one.
It's easier if two images are the same colour :)

Coldy makes a guide? :O This is a rarity.

    It's actually really nice...perhaps add a little more colors/subtitles for visual ;). +rep!

It looks good as a basic guide, Coldy. But the example you provided isn't quite blended all the way. You can still see the edges. Maybe show how you can use the eraser to blend (which I think is the easiest way :p)

Will see what I can do.
I will edit my first post as soon as possible.

And yes, I know. I blended a bit to much of the image xD
-should have put a less feather thing-
Anyway doesn't really matter. Will add how to blend with eraser later x
