How do you make shadows properly?

    Could anyone please make a tutorial about how to make shadows on SKETCHED IMAGES?

    I sketch alot, i know how to shade fine, but i dont really understand how to shadow..

    Sorry if this isn't in the right forum. <3

    u have an object... pick a point for the direction of light

    light
    object
    shadow


    so basically the shadow appears opposite the light source and connects onto the actual object. it is a flattened image of the object.

    that is quite a "sketchy" description but i hope it helps. it is quite hard to explain :

    It helps a bit. :p
    I get that it is opposite from the light source. But I don't know the size to make it and whatnot.. And how dark. ><

    u can make it as dark as u want. that does not matter. it should be about the same size :)

    And don't use dodge & burn. They, really is made the image looks burned. Pick palette instead
