Yeah, the Blu-Ray players alone are like $2,000 or close to that, so the PS3, is actually VERY cheap, just people aren't thinking about everything inside the box.
Really? Where? Can you link me to the page of it? I'm not saying you're lying, just never seen them cheaper than $1,200
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-BD-P1...7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174181472&sr=1-1 That is under $500 (on sale though). The thing with PS3 is that you don't only get a blu-ray player, you also get a top-grade gaming console and a entire system which functions much like a PC.
lolololol That's a crazy amount to save, but man, where have I been in the last 5 months? 5 months ago, it was way over $1,000... is Blu-Ray losing the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war? Or is it getting easier to mass-produce?
yeah, its so much like a pc that someone actuaully turned his into a pc. check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZXcuhJkwx4
Lol, yeah, hmm.. can Windows OS be installed or is there a problem with trying to install it? I would keep Linux 100%, but just wondering if you can invite an enemy into another enemies home base?
nope, you can get windows on a ps3 too. somebody installed pearpc on their linux ps3 and ran windows on it (no video tho) edit. wait, heres a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Ecr8tWetI
of course theyre pissed. they get pissed when you install new hardware and they make you regester again and call customer support. they get pissed when you move a hird drive form one computer to anothe (trust me dont try this)
Lol Microsoft needs to give it up, they don't monopolize the PC universe anymore, anyone with even 1-2 years knowledge of a PC, can install a new OS or whatever they want. Freedom of speech? Well freedom of entertainment.
yeah, i know. linux is becoming much more popular. i just installed it recently but i was having driver problems with my network card so i needed to wipe the hdd and just use it as a backup drive(what it was in the first place)
Yeah man, I love Linux, best OS I have ever tinkered with, I don't use it on this PC, because this PC would crash over and over again, and wouldn't be worth all the trouble, can't wait to upgrade
I tinker around with Mepis a LOT, I don't think it is widely used, but I go for the less common distributions of almost anything, all the time.
lol, this started as a ps3 thread and now were talking about linux. quick talk about ps3's before the mods kill us. hey did you hear about the ps3 grill. its really funny go to http://www.therealps3grill.com
have you seen that video of the guy who bought the ps3 on launch day and smashed it in front of all the people.
