With my awsome artistic skills, I can use both perfectly... :nope: I used to draw with a mouse... it was a disaster! So I bought a tablet... and it got worse. :lol: Now I'm adjusting myself to the tablet and my abilities are improving considerably.
you should use tablet when coloring or drawing and mouse when you need to do stuff with a much stable base. It takes time to adapt to the tablet and i find it easier to use the mouse sometimes cuz of the right click and stuff. Some tablet pen comes with this button below for ur right click button but i always press it accidentally and it caused much more time waste in the end.
Is it possible to use a tablet for gaming? I'd be pretty embarrassed if I was beaten by someone using a tablet.
I only use my tablet for drawing. For designing, navigation, etc. I use my laptop trackpad because the gestures on the mac are just that helpful and time-saving.
i think it depends more on the tablet then having one in general, back when i did gfx i bought one of the cheap ones from best buy and everything came out kinda pixelated but i used a buddies a couple times and he spent like 500 bucks on his and it was just like drawing on a piece of paper but it smoothed out the curves and everything, was completely awesome, i dont think gaming would be any fun on a tablet either just alot of random things hit a tablet and they register so if you have like a bracelet or watch and it comes in contact itd register as the stylus and make all kinds of random actions happen.
I always use both. I use the mouse for illustrator and the tablet for photoshop, mostly. A lot of times I'll do the under neath sketch with the tablet and then clean it up with the mouse.
Here's my process: 1. I draw a sketch on paper, with a pencil 2. I outline the pencil sketch with an ink pen 3. I scan it to my computer 4. I trace it in photoshop with my tablet 5. I color it using my mouse I can't seem to stick to one thing, as you can see lol.
I have the wacom bamboo pen and touch. I love using a tablet! It's better than mouse by far. A lot more detail can be added having a tablet and one of the best things I have bought for my laptop.
Haha, no kidding! That's the same one I have I got it at a good deal to, it came with photoshop elements 7.
Mine came with that too! What kind of things do you draw with yours? I just kinda doodle and stuff. Nothing I draw really makes sense. xD
Our tablets are twins :lol: I like to draw neopets fan art, and anime/manga stuff. For the most part I just doodle to. I want to work as an artist for Neopets one day though, I think it'd be pretty fun. xD How long have you had your tablet?
I wanna say about a year now I think. I haven't had a whole ton of time to spend time drawing but when I do its so much more convenient than using my mouse. How long have you had yours now? ^^
I got mine sept. 2010 so I'm closing in on a year now to. =) I want to get muc hbetter, but I don't use it a lot of time either. I got really caught up in school and playing neo lol. Maybe this summer I'll get more into it and watch tutorials and the like. Do you have a DA?

Ah, does anyone have any tips for using mouse? I don't have a tablet *cries* so everything I do is through my computer mouse. What programs do you use? I use gimp (and sometimes photoshop) cause its simple to use.
I use both but use my tablet the most I guess it all depends what I am doing and how serious I take it lol
