CCTV, Internet Tracking, Credit Card Statements, Private Records. Do you think that the goverment is slowly becoming more like Orwell's 1984? I really didn't like that car advert (UK) about how many times you get caught on camera everyday I think it was 300+ Tony Blair wanted to bring in manditory ID cards which was freaky as well. We get taught what the goverment wants us to know and anything else is left out of the classroom. Whats your opinion?

Nah, there's still a long way until we're there.
And we can choose our leaders, we can affect the political decisions.
Not being able to do that was the thing that scared me the most in the book :p

I personally dont like the fact that we are caught on camera 300+ times a day, but you have to think, at least if we get attacked or something, they should at least be able to find the person that did it.

lol I think that is was going that way...

But now it is changing. There are programs that mask your internet identity.

Things are getting smarter these days to protect who you are.

It is really creepy knowing that there are such things that pin poiny down everyone.

    We all need barcodes.

    heh j/k

With technology i would guess they would implant a little chip into you with all your information on instead of barcodes.

It depends from what you care...
freedom of opinion... freedom of speech and expression... nowadays they seem to exist, but if you look beyond this, you'll notice that there are only few people that decide for everyone, and there are more states where you can't say anything than states where you can oppose.
However also in USA, Italy and the other states of the second case, I don't think we are really free. Well, maybe I don't believe in secret organizations that spy you in every moment of your life with super technology^^"... but I don't feel free. I think we live in an apparent calmness driven by someone... and hystory has proved this

    ^^

Well I think that freedom is impossible without us being totally controled. Freedom of sppech means people will never be able to live in freedom because people oppose each other to the death. The simple fact is freedom is impossible.

There are actually implants that you can get that keeps track of your position via GPS.
I read something about some girl who had one because her parents were wanted to keep an eye on her.
    Now that's scary.

Are you sure? :? I doubt that very much, it wouldn't be legal for a start.
You might be confusing it with the mobiles that now have chips in so that parents can tell where there kids are... :?

Well people put those chips in their dogs but some parent do put them in their children in case their kids get kidnapped. But I think they'll have to take it out after a couple months or something or atleast when they're 18.

Well dogs are different, because people use the chips if they get lost.
You simply wouldnt be allowed to put a chip in a child.
In England, parents can be sued if they try and force feed their child that is anorexic and could die. Therefore, the child could sue if the parents wanted to put a chip in them, and unlike anorexia, the child would win. It would be against their human rights.

Those disney phones that they came out with a while ago have GPS in them...

You can look online and it will show you where your kid is.

My mum would probably want me to get one of those, I'm 20 years old yet she still shouts at me everytime she calls my flat and im not there. Hehe. Though it would probably always be "your child has gone down the pub for a pint".

Yep, it was actually in Metro, nothing I just read online.
    So the sources are trustworthy.
Probably their daughter agreed to it and all, but it's still scary.
