Its an RPG, medival times ish, you can be anything from warriors to mages. It's the greatest RPG you will ever find.

My brother has shivering isles. Look at the sky at night, it's pretty sick.

I love it, its just the way that it looks awsome, and also that you don't have to do the main story line only but you can go off and spend hours doing side quests.

My classmate is beginning on it. So far he doesn't know what to do. So I might play it if someone else can give me information about it in case I don't know what to do either.

Basicually Oblivion is just a first people/third person RPG game. You just walk around and talk to people to get quests or learn skills and follow the arrow on your compas and do the quest. You can just run around and go into dungeons and kill monsters also. All in all though its just like any RPG.

If he is stuck at the very beginning of the game, try and head for the main city or follow your compas to where its taking you.

unless your in the middle of the dungeon in the begining, you dont really need to follow a storyline. go fast travel to a city, do some quests, buy some equiptment, and if you really like the city, buy a house(or go to anvil and get one for free) then once you understand the feel of the game and you have gained some levels, then check out the main quest line.
