that movie was based on a true story and i think its main point was to highlight that innocent people DO die at the hands of the law, i mean how do you think the innocent(but guilty) persons family would feel about that. i personally would say that would probably be a worse crime than the crime itself
I fully agree with that. I heard someone say something once that made me think along such lines. The person who commits the crime is a single person acting out of anger, revenge, or hatred, etc, that has driven them desperate with grief. However in our inflicting the death penalty on them, we are as a community sanely and soberly choosing to commit a murder. These actions in no way justify each other in my opinion.
^^ I didn't realize this was a reference to the film The Life Of David Gale which I think is extraordinarily good and further proof that the death sentence is bull. I thought that this was reference to the fact some people blame killing someone on violence in films and video games.
Well i think they shouldnt do death penalties because if they kill the criminal they r just as guilty as the criminal but they can get away with it.. Sure the victims family may want the person dead but i think they should just sentence them to life which i know it isnt much but death is pretty steep
i cant belive the fact that people will kill 70 people and get no death penatly, they should get tourcherd not left to live or die a instant death
rather than looking at different punishments for crimes, maybe we should be looking at the causes of the crimes? perhaps if we had less of a divide between the rich and the poor, people wouldn't have to kill and steal to get by? and what about our culture? we basically glorify crime and violence, so why are we surprised when people commit violent crimes? to keep my post on topic, no, I don't think the death penalty is just.
^^ The availability of certain weapons has more of an impact on crime. Countries with hardly any guns have a lower crime rate than places with but take the UK for example the age old country that started class divides and has the same culture regarding violence in films and music but a lower crime rate than the US.
