That is just not true. Children don't get missing in these circumstances 'all' the time. Someone watched her room, knew her parents weren't there all the time, waited for them to have left, managed to get into the room where there were 3 young children, take one of them WITHOUT the three year old screaming her head off. Very unusual. How many three year olds do you know that would allow a stranger to pick them up? It's all very strange and very awful.

I don't know how these sort of things are treated in other countries, but there is always heavy media coverage in the UK if a child goes missing precisely because it doesn't happen very often. It's all very easy to sit and be cynical about it and say it happens all the time, but it doesn't. I think people are ignorant to real crime levels these days. Yes, crime levels are high, but certain crimes are not. Child abduction is not an everyday occurance, mostly I would guess because you have to have a person who wishes to abduct a child and to have them in a situation where the opportunity is present.

I do, however, have a problem with the media coverage. As was mentioned, it was under no circumstances ok for 3 young children to be left on their own. The excuse given by the media is that the place 'feels safe', etc, but it's not just about that. What if one had fallen and hurt themselves? Or had woken up frightened whilst they were alone? The only reason no one has really questioned this is because they're both wealthy, respectable doctors. What would the reaction have been if it were a young, unemployed couple who were claiming benefits?

    -_-

It doesn't happen all the time over here in Britain it's really rare. Especially for it to go on for so long the last case I remember that was this big but even bigger was the Ian Huntley case years ago. Obviously children have gone missing in between but usually they are found quickly.

yea agree with the last post, its really hard for the family,,,, no one will ever know how it feels unless this happened to them..I think dealing with missing a person is way worse then someone whos dead because you know there will a chance he/ she will come back to you..where as you know a person is gone forever when they are dead.
