Yeah. Why does every LOVE it SO MUCH? I've played it numerous times, and sure, it's fun. But not much better than a bunch of other FPS games. So how come everyone considers it the best? Please enlighten me =]
take it back. halo is awesome because of great online multiplayer, good campaign and a good story all of those combine to make an awesome game.
IMO honestly HL2 has a much better story than Halo. Sure halo is good for online play, but still the story is what makes or breaks a game. Plus Halo settings are basically always the same they never change.
hype and marketing, pretty much. you're right, it is no better than most fps games. counterstrike surfing is the best fps by far.
Call of Duty has all of those things (especially great multiplayer) But I don't hear too much hype about COD =/
I like Call of Duty. I think Halo is good because a lot of people have played it and they know it so when you want to play with friends you have more people to play with. Only a few of my friends have ever played CoD so when I ask them to play with me I don't have many friends to play with.
Because you get to kill other people and you are able to rank levels and it is really fun to play with your friends online. Plus the game is amazing
Settings? Pfttt. PLay a halo 3 beta custom game. You can change everything. Halo 1's campaign was a lot better than halo 2's campaign. But halo 3 will tie right in with both of them and crush everyother game. And if you didn't like the story line, read the books. Those books will make you adore halo. The Fall of Reach tells you about the spartans when they were kids. The Flood is basically Halo 1. And the new one, Ghosts of Onyx is just sweet. But you at least have to read the first one.

Talking about Halo. I heard they're making a Halo movie with Peter Jackson as the Producer (not director) But I hope it'll be better than Doom with the Rock.
I have never heard of them coming out with a Halo movie, but I guess it wouldnt be bad. I would probly go see it

ik! Seriously I don't get why it is so good! I mean..I have played it, people make it sound a lot better than it is.
Its just a great game to play with your friends. Most guys like it because you get to kill ppl and be super competitive.
