I think the adrenaline of getting away with criminal acts is the answer.

I mean, people do that now but they get caught.

Fly to new york, rent an expensive hotel room, get pictured by the paps by going to the hottest clubs, die in the hotel room with a chanel dress on dripping with diamonds and a red lipstick heart on the mirror. It would make such a cool news story ^^ everyone would wonder who was that girl?
