So I was browsing TV landed on channel 4 and there was a show on about secret US prisons. Apparently America bribed Romania to let them keep secret prisons where they could "interrogate" terrorist suspects and in return grant them a place in NATO. Romania got their NATO membership and Bush decided lets go to Poland to build our new secret prison. So they go to Poland. Poland & Romania both confirm this was true. This leads us to wonder why weren't American prisons in well.. America. Could it be because of a torture method used called water boarding? America says yes. But apparently water boarding isn't torture (making someone believe they are drowning). Urm how is that any different from what happened in that Iraq prison when Iraqi prisoners were stood on a box and told if they stepped off they would die? Also American government went to extraordinary lengths to make the prisons undetectable by creating false flight plans and lying to air control. Women and Children are being used as hostages in these prisons and some are still there. Opinions
wtf.. thats sooo crazy.. im surprized that it was on T.V. but i'm ok with that.. Terriosts need super special care
-____0 Terrorist SUSPECTS many spent months in these jails to be released without charge and no evidence connecting them to terrorism.
Terrorism isn't a real threat, it's just the best that the Bush administration could conjure up to scare Americans into giving up their rights.
I have never heard of this before. If it is in fact true, I don't think it's right and it should be stopped. I don't think terrorism should be fought with more terrorism. It just doesn't make sense, and it doesn't solve anything.
the whole patriot act scares the crap out of me. I think its the part where they can now arrest you and not tell you why (which mean they dont have to have a reason) and keep you in detention for an unspecified and unlimited amount of time without trial...providing they think your a terrorist...wait...I thought they didnt have to tell you why
*_* Well Bush even said that there where secret prisons I don't think he admitted that he paid off poor countries to house them on though. The countries admit they were there though.
heh, I bet that was one of those bush moments where he admited to it, but his party didnt know he was going to do that, and just had a panic attack after
i cant believe that like! but i wouldnt put it past the americans...with the risk of sounding stupid whats water boarding?
I personally think we shouldn't be doing this. I'm not going to go blaming our administration- this is a practice supported by many people in the US (especially where I'm from).
As people here have said, there is no actual threat against America. Fact is that not a single suicide bombing has occured in a country that hasn't been occupied. Before 9/11 that is. After that we can add Madrid and London of course. But that's about it. There is no threat anymore, and Bush did exactly what Osama wanted. He went to play cowboy in the middle-east. Which drastically has made the US to become alot more disliked by several countries, not to mention that the money spent on the war contributes to poverty and other problems. There was a great documentary about this, it's called "Jihad: The Men And Ideas Behind Al Qaeda". A trailer and a few clips, if anyone is interested, can be found here. And to be on topic; the secret prisons is just a method for the US army to be able to torture people without getting caught. Around a year ago, some swedish guy was actually released form one of those prisons. It made a great stir about this question, but only over here
and the sad thing is when ever we catch them doing such hanus acts, there is virtually no way to charge them, you would simply be hushed
Virre your back MWAH! Yeah there was a British man that got released as well he was in the documentary. He would still be in the prison today if MI5 hadn't intervened.
Has anyone ever been on PostSecret? There was a postcar dsent in once, with a picture of a flying cald eagle. Taped to it were two lines, which read, "U.S. Internment Camps Exist. I helped build the REX 84 facility ...UNDERGROUND." If I can find a picture of the postcard, I'll post it here.
