http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/World/2 ... 89665.html Also, it was confirmed that it was, in fact a double homocide-suicide case made by benoit.
WTF?! That's the 3rd WWE superstar who passes away this year, and last year Eddie Guerrero also died, loads of WWE superstars have been dying lately... Anyways, to comment on the news: " WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday. " That is f*cking sick, what in the hell did he have in mind?... I don't believe WWE will pay tribute to him this time.
I want to know what the autopsies will show becuase apparently, the deaths were not caused by gunshot or stabbing...weird.
Ye I'm also curious too, I was gonna say that it was most probably drugs (like with Eddie Guerrero), but I am sure the family, even less the kid didn't consume drugs.
Probably poison if they're going the murder-suicide route. It's really sad though. And I don't know hwy anyone would ever kill a child. It's awful.
Updates: WWE has posted an article today here: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/benoitpressrelease Apparently, they're trying to fight against the "false" media speculation, by pointing out some points, such as this which I found ridiculous: 4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage. So what? Doesn't deliberation leads to rage? And still if it wasn't rage, a deliberated person doesn't have excuse to kill. This is just my opinion though, at this moment I guess that WWE is just trying to get the media away of the possibility of Benoit's 'deliberation' been caused by steroids.
It's sad to hear about Chris Benoit's death. I don't like him as a wrestler but hearing this news shock me a lot. If one of the Hardy Boys will get killed I'm going to cry 'coz I like them so much!
This is really sad, he killed his wife, then waited some time before killing his son? That makes it even worse as he had time to think on it. Whatever happened to him I can't imagine what could drive a person to ever harm someone they love, especially their own child.
must be stress or something. or global warming. but basically people these days are getting angrier or more scared easier. i watched some documentary on that before. its pretty sad. kinda reminds me of that case where a couple overdosed their children with sleeping pills to get them killed. similar stuff i guess.
Goncalo, the false media speculation is in regards to the supposed "Roid rage" which comes about from taking steroids. As an old school wrestling fan this comes as a shock to me, chris benoit being a role model to me and I being a huge fan of his up until now. Chris benoit was one of the few "good" wrestlers in that he never took steroids, except the prescribed ones for a neck injury he sustained during a wrestling match. My thoughts on the matter is that Chris maybe found out his wife had been cheating on her, went into a fit of rage and killed her but that doesn't explain binding her hand and feet and the bibles by her body.. I think the reason he waited in between killing his wife and his son is because he realised what he'd done and didn't want his son to live without parents (I'm not condoning this fact, murder of anyone is never excusable) he then sank into a depression in what he'd done and commited suicide. Where do they say it does? I'm sorry to disagree i just think you're biting at the media due to anger at what he's done, understandable but nevertheless uneeded. Back to the subject of roid rage, it doesn't last for 3 days and it's more of a mood swing type of thing, depression and the like. WWE nowadays put huge pressure on the wrestlers, especially the mid/high level ones (Such as benoit) maybe all this pressure built up on him and he snapped? I guess we'll never know, no note was found.
I saw this on the news and this is MAJORLY WRONG And yea. I heard they ARE having a tribute about him in place of his scheduled wrestling match. I don't think any murderer/suicide should get a tribute. Did they ever confirm streoid use? Wow.. they had such an expensive house too.
I don't really know about the whole wrestling thing, is this guy really famous? perhaps is the pressure of being the top player? High disturbing since he killed his wife first and next day killed his child ...
Correction DavethXCore, Benoit did have previous steroid use before the prescribed ones for low hormones. I feel bad that he killed his own family. There must've been something seriously wrong with him mentally. Innocent people, especially children and women shouldn't be harmed.
The police did a raid. Here's some information about it and what they discovered: http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/TopSto ... aid_070628
I've been watching wrestling since I was like 3 years old, I remember watching Chris Benoit in the WCW when I was a child. To come this many years later to have him kill his family and then himself.... shakes me up a little bit. I still cannot believe that happened.
