So far I really liked The Heirloom ( Foreign ), Eyes without a Face ( Foreign ), and The Hills Have Eyes. A lot of new scary movies have been paying more attention to effects and fast images instead of actually scaring you. I actually sometimes prefer the classics that are remade. The orginal Hitcher is good. Birds get two thumbs up.

I would like to see Rob Zombies "Halloween" also.
It's interesting to make a movie where you see through the eyes and mind of
    Micheal Myers (SP).

    Freddy Vs Jason.
I liked See No Evil just because my favorite wrestler starred in it, but it wasn't a very good movie.

Anything with Jason is good in my books :).

I really don't like horror movies.

But I do like thirteen ghosts. Probably not a horror horror movie. But the effects are fantastic.

If you want to scare yourself silly I would suggest looking up some of the ORIGINAL Japanese horror movies. They know how to make a good horror.

Oooh, several! These are just random ones that I like, not arranged in any specific order.

    The grudge (Japanese version)
    The eye (Thai+Taiwan)
    Shutter (Thai)
A tale of two sisters (Korean)
    Ringu, the ring

Saw is probably my favorite horror series, but Silent Hill was also pretty good.

Mine is Stephen Kings 'IT' for many reasons. It's scary, I'll probably frighten myself from sleeping tonight! I saw it when I was about 6 at my older cousins. Scared me to death and my sister even more. We were always scared of clowns after that. And I couldnt even think about it for ages when I was growing up. Then I read the book on holiday a couple of years ago to confront my fear (very heavy going!), and got it when it eventually came out on DVD last year. I rewatched it on my own and I was just as scared, sneaking around the empty house expecting him to jump out on me. And I'm not usually scared of anything like that!! I laugh at most horror films and I don't mind gory things.
I've had quite an intense relationship with that story I think haha
aw man I'm never going to sleep tonight...

Has anyone seen that film? Or read the book?

edit: I agree, the three 'Saw' films are good too. The first one most so (but that's always the case) They weren't scary though, I just liked the psychology of it.

YES, I saw that film when I was a kid o_0 I almost forgot about it if you hadn't mentioned it. It is one of the reasons that I am still afraid of clowns. It's true, I actually discussed my fear of clowns in another board here on neofriends before. *shivers*
