The body was found by police in central Afghanistan after a purported Taliban spokesman said the militants had killed one of the captives. This is unfortunate. Things have been going on for years and there has been nothing but deaths. You cannot win a war against someone who is NOT afraid to die and numbers can remain endless.

i agree and disagree with you, i do think this war is pointless, but i think that we should finish what we started and win this war. If we just quit then that means all those dead soldiers died in vain.
Isn't that hypocritical (lack of a nicer term)? If this war is pointless, than why finish? HOW do we finish it? What the US needs to do is pull out (in a safe manner, with SOME kind of useful government over there, be it ours or theirs) and focus on DEFENSE. We're an easy target if we're wasting money, time, and energy on being world leader.
How can a country impose a government on another country that is becoming more and more corrupt in its own home? The means of the war starting was not noble. Now they are killing people from other countries although I do not believe they are involved. But countries do have secret meetings but who knows....I just wanted people to know about this if you did not hear or see about it.
I agree, I think that we need to just get out while we can since we've already lost so many because of this. I do think that this entire thing was pointless, because by the looks of it (other than the obvious of having caught and ended saddam) we've gotten exactly no where. Maybe I'm just crazy in seeing it that way. But, they don't want us there, so why stay and give help when all we're getting in return is more death tolls? That's my two cents whether its wanted or not :yup:
Ugh... that's truly horrible considering most of these hostages are women (or is it all? not being sexist btw). The government has even called on these people to release the hostages because it's blatantly against Islamic principles or something like that... terrorist organizations use religion as a shield for their activities and it's definitely cowardly.
So wait a sec, (not meaning to insult you) are you saying that they should continue the war and let more people die just so those who are already dead not die in vain?
we can.... if and only if..... we can put fear in the enemy.... in theory destroying enemies will is the best way to defeat the enemy.... and to destroy an enemies will is through fear...... sorry about the random rambling.....
