So expon and I have been contemplating an idea about a community run item list for shops, here is an example of how I envision it: http://www.imageho.st/image/42632example.jpg The idea is that people will be able to view a list of items by shop and then people can use the XML feed inside their program to determine the value of items (ala constantly up to date shop lists for auto buyers or people who legitly restock). The items will only be modifiable by people above a certain level (e.g. people in group Level 2 or 3 and up, has not been decided yet). If you have any ideas while I am working on this, please post them so I can have them in for the first version.
Yeah I agree with Tweedie. It sounds great and it'd definitely be helpful to stay updated on the lists, since they're constantly changing. I mean people usually post updates but it's hard to get everything and would be much easier to just check a page. *thumbs up*
I haven't had much time, but I have made some headway on this, right now it is completely manageable by hand. I need to: Figure out how to make the login work with phpbb3/groups Finish up the XML exporting for items and shops Figure out how to insert items into the database by id rather then input all the data by hand
I had an idead of making something like this but not as complex. It is just item name and you go to a shop id and it tells you the profitable items
Heh I was just looking for a list of items by Id Number and started making a list (only about 100 items atm). Neoitems.net has a similar database but it doesn't seem to have the proper id numbers. If you want any items to be entered manually, I'd be happy to do some (although it definitly not an ideal solution).
