Because there are so many users on Neo, and 99% of all good, original names have been taken, some people tend to just add underscores and numbers to the end of their pets names. A lot of my friends usually ask me to help them come up with original names for their pets [a.k.a with no numbers or underscores] So, I was just thinking, I might as well put this up here, as easy as it might be, because some people might not have thought of it. Pick a name for your pet, eg. Jayden Jayden will obviously be taken [it is], so instead of naming your pet Jayden_24168, there are a couple of things you could do to the name that would leave it sounding the same, and still looking decent. for instance, you could double some of the letters, eg n, making the name Jaydenn [also taken] if it is taken, and you have doubled up on a letter and the end, you could add an 'e' at the end, which doesn't change the way the name is pronounced. eg. Jaydenne [also taken] You could also add an 'h' to the name, eg. Jhaydenne, or Jahydenn [not taken]. you should add the 'h' in such a place that it would be silent. so, in other words, you would go from Jayden - Jaydenn - Jaydenne - Jayhndenn so, in a nutshell, double up on some of the letters, and 'e's and 'h's. Very simple, but I hope this will help someone eventually.
I wouldn't really consider this a guide but nice try. I'll keep this in mind anytime I make a new pet.
