I played for nearly 3 years and, after finally obtaining my dream of a 75 BLM/ 37 RDM (i was one of the pioneers of the BLM/RDM combo; very proud of myself about that!) I ran a casino in the game, and eventually gained 11 million gil; within a week i hit rock bottom and had nothing(still think this person cheated me, won every game they ever played. even won all the games against other people. just not statistically possible!), and was in debt to a friend by 200,000 gil. This happened right before the economy burst and everything I had depleted in value. (so now i didnt even have items worth anything. EXTREMELY DEPRESSED) Because i ran a casino, many of the people had a prejudice against me for not "earning" my gil so I was working through a lot of end-game politics. The main reason i left FFXI was the fact that i went from such an extreme high to an all time low with my money. (yes i know i sound shallow, but please, its not like you've never felt bad for having bad luck) Other reasons were the end-game politics and the fact that FFXI was becoming more of a chore than a fun pass time. I want to know why all of you quit playing FFXI. what's your story? p.s. Still a bit depressed about the decision to stop playing, but i wont go back... at lest for now (T.T it's so hard!).
lol.. i dont play it but my cousin does... he doesnt leave the house!!! same thing happend to him... he stopped playing for a month... now hes playing again.. lol.. i dont know y... but to me its not that interesting... give it some time... u'll probably start playing in a few weeks..
I never really got into FFXI due to the time requirements to get anywhere in the game. Not that a challenge is a bad thing, and if i was still in college or something i would consider it. But i just lack the time to dedicate i guess.
It got to a point where setting up an exp party was just tedious. I love that game in theory, but in practice it's just so monotonous.
