How do you guys determine when posts should be locked?

It seems so strange how some topics are locked even though some posts are locked when people had just posted on them while others which haven't been active are not locked. Anyone have an explanation?

 

lol ive wondered that myself... y not just lock all the old topics and there will be no more gravedigging...

 

Some are locked because of people flaming, some because people are just posting in it to get points. And some are locked because someone gravedug in it.

And if you have very useful info, you're still allowed to post in the topic I think.. But I find that a bit weird too.

 

if someone gravedigs a topic i lock it 99.9% of the time
sometimes mods go through old topics locking them (although that seems like a waste of time to me)
if it is a question and i answer it or see the answer posted, there is no need for the topic to still be open so i lock it to stop others spamming in it
if there is a stick or another topic somewhere else on the same subject i lock it and direct to the other topic
i can't think of any more right now but that is pretty much it

 

yah.. and is there anyways u can get posts fast without spamming?

 

Here is an example of a topic locked because of a gravedig.
And FYI jamezthaog2, you can only earn 40 cash points per day.

for the record, the only reason why milanos can post in locked topics is because he is level 3, that is just to minimize confusion, thanks
