The longest you've gone without TV

So, what's the longest you've gone without TV?

I'm asking because my boyfriend and I have bought a house and moved in together. We've been here for nearly 3 months and we have no TV . James has a 1st class degree in Media and Cultural Studies so that seems odd :/. Basically, in the UK you pay a TV licence each year of around £130. This is given to the BBC to make terrible programmes that are supposedly educational. James didn't want to be handing over money to them so he suggested we didn't get a TV at all. Seeing as I'm mostly playing Neopets ( :lol: ), I didn't argue.

No one thought we'd last longer than a month without one, but I'm honestly not bothered. You don't realise how much people talk about TV though until you don't have one!

 

Couple of years... :lol: I don't watch television anymore pc is pretty much all that I do. Now I watch movies on my tv lol does that count ?

 

I don't watch the tv itself much (Adultswim on saturday nights only) but I do watch movies and shows on the internet.

 

lol If the internet is counted then about every half hour

 

Longest ever was 6 months while I was in Military school. Its actually quite refreshing not having distractions around and you're able to have a greater imagination.

 

I haven't watched TV since i was about 14.. and im nearly 19.
Though i do use my TV for my PS2.
but i could easily live without it.

 

I have to watch Simpsons everyday, have to watch the fresh prince...everyday
Though I have gone without for 2 weeks while on holiday, well, maybe I watched a little at hotel bar

 

I went for about 20 weeks without tv when I was going through military bmt and tech school. I don't watch too much now but there are a few shows I like to catch when I can.

 

Probably like 3weeks when the ariel broke, but I guess I watched it at friends houses.

My art teacher says she doesn't even have one..

 

Three weeks, I think. Vacations + beach + friends. I completely forgot about TV. And it was soo fun

 

TV is my life i cannot imagine a moment without it. you are not bothered by not watching tv??!!

I dunno, probably quite awhile before i got involved in watching House (which is teh awesomeness)

 

3 whole days.... the torture , the horror

 

im not watching tv for 5 + years now.... and i dont miss it.

 

How could you be in tech school and not watch tv :lol:

 

I can't live without TV...

my movies and my shows and my news and and and yeah. I only watch between an hour to three a day, though, because you've got your daily shows at night (Heroes, House, ANTP, CSI, Grey's, Gossip Girl, Lost, what have you) and then the occasional weekend movie. Yup.

My hat off to you that have lived without TV for more than a month.

 

I went a long time without tv when I was broke. I didnt have anough money for one when I moved out... not sure exactly how long it was until I got one. few months maybe?

 

Do not watch tv really. But will die without my computer

 

about a week when i was at my grandparents house because they dont have cable. it wasnt so bad after you get used to it. but i mean who doesnt have cable!?
