Kay so i have a quiz tomorrow on the 8 figures of speech: noun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, interjection and pronoun. If anyone could give me a site for practice worksheets for these that would be amazing.. Also can someone explain to me exactly what a preposition is, its confusing.. I am a math/science kid, not some English nerd.
I do.. but the only excercise using all them is one i have already done in class and it doesn't help when you already know the answer.
Im looking for a specific website if anyone knows.. thats why i made the post, i know how to use google bra.

preposition: spatial or temporal modifier of verb or noun. ex. The bird flew over the house. Over modifies the verb "flew" and tells where the bird flew. ex. I travel many places during the summer. during modifies the verb "travel" and tells when I travel.
For prepositions our teacher always taught us about the box lol =) Over the box. Inside the box. To the left of the box. etc... Edit: Woah, didn't check the date. Posted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 12:57 pm Sorry =(
a good video to get to help you with all this is schoolhouse rock.. its a cartoon the teaches you these things
