Is that the same DZK that did the songs about that halie girl from myspace?

    Not really =/

The new greenday is Pop. Old greenday is punk. My dad got me dookie today when i saw him =D Great great album.

My favourite song is Seventy times Seven by Brand new. Listened to it over 1000 times.

Dude, no. I know my music.

I was just listening to dookie in the car. That was produced in 1994.

My dad, who listens to old stuff, said "Wow, this is really punk, sounds like the sex pistols".

Can you listen to a song like "Wake me up when september ends" or "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and tell me it's punk? If you can, you clearly know nothing about music genre classification.

Traditional punk has a DIY (do it yourself) feel to it. New green day is so manufactured that it's lost the feeling that punk should have.

If you don't get what I mean, go listen to NoFX. They're probably on the more manufactured end of punk, yet they still manage to get it.

"Punk" has come to mean anything that has guitars in it and isn't hard rock, and that's not right.

Have you even listened to the album? It's pop punk at best. Pop punk is more melodious than punk punk.

Sure, it can be argued that american idiot does have some aspects of punk, saying that their old stuff is more pop'ish than AI is a complete joke.

Sorry if i argued too hard, I just wanted to prove my point. No hard feelings, okay? Maybe we should have put this in the debating forum :p

Weren't we arguing about the legalization of pot in that forum? It seems like we can't agree on anything :p

    :p

+Rep for arguing with me over it, and for conceding.

I love a good debate about music. That's one thing that I'll argue for hours over.

Yes! Beatles. I cannot even begin to explain how huge of a beatles fan I am. Let me just say I was raised by hippies who listened to a lot of classic rock/pop whilst I was growing up.

Example...the whole Queen bit in Waynes World was no surprise to me when the movie came out. (might make sense to the older members or maybe I'm just weird)
