well i have seen ghost before and i do a lot of studying now days so people may call you crazy but you know what you see and that is more then proof that there is a god. oh and by the way it's not as cool as in the movies most people that see them run away i don't move at all i just wait for them to fade away.

Hmm...in rebuttal to your "dumb" argument.... Dumb? Upon what do you base that on? To me, the probability of his existence is less than that of there being no God. As times passes, we learn more and more things about the world that used to be explained by religion. From science spawns theories, and well established theories are taken as facts, which scientists assume to be true, but which might be refuted at a later stage. Religion remains the same. Science can explain a lot more things than religion can. If you don't understand "the event", are you saying there is just as likely a chance that God did it, as there is that the expert in their field is correct/on to something?Even with the beginning of all matter, science can explain it, with matter appearing along with antimatter. While yes, as unlikely as it sounds that we all came from that, the other option? Let's just say there is a 1/20 chance that a mythical being tapped his magic wand to make it happen, and a 19/20 chance that measurable, explainable events were how we got here. If this was a bet, most people would bet on the more likely outcome. Yet the majority of the world would pick that 1/20 because the pay offs are greater.
God. It's like my Spanish teacher said: "I live a life with God by my side because he's the thing that gives me true happiness. When I die and I go to heaven, I'll be pleased and ready...but if I die and heaven isn't real, then I'll be glad I lived a great life." I don't let other theories get in my way, it's hard enough believing in something I can't trust 100%...but either way, I stick where I'm at. I'm almost in the line where I believe in both, but I give most of my thoughts to believe there is a god knowing that evolution may be true. If I'm wrong, well it's like what my Spanish teacher said, I'll be happy I had something to guide me to live a great life.

Well, if a god does exist, it doesn't mean he necessarily has to interfere. Deism is a religious philosophy of sorts, that states that God is a non-interfering entity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deism It is possible that God exists, but through the advancement in science, religion is getting left behind. Regardless of the existence of God, religion generally teaches us right from wrong. If someone needs moral guidance, religion is a way to guide them. But if you have common sense and good judgment, your morals would no doubt be similar to what religion teaches (eg Thou shalt not steal,murder etc) The Al-Qaeda is a well known terrorist organisation that follows the Muslim religion. But their actions do not represent all Muslims, in fact, many of the Muslim leaders condemn and do not condone their actions. The Al-Qaeda have interpreted their religion differently, and have acted differently. You can't just say that because 9/11 was caused by religion, all religion is wrong.
Scientists have the proof that there was evolution, but the thing is, what caused the evolution. Scientists believe in the Big Bang. Well what caused the big bang.

Why does people feel like there has to be a start for everything? There are several theories of what caused the Big Bang and my favourite is that the Universe is expanding and then will start to shrink and that this cycle has been going on forever. Think of it like this: First you have a big explosion that pushes everything away. But since all planets and stars and everything have a gravity force, the expanding is being slowed down until it stops. So all the celestial bodies are attracting one another. Maybe or galaxy are attracting the Andromeda galaxy, and when the two come together the gravity force becomes even stronger. So now you have these big lumps with an even bigger force. And they start attracting each other and keep creating bigger lumps until tou have one really big lump and when all that energy is going to the same point, you'll get yet another massive explosion. And the cycle continues.
I know this thread has been here for ages, but I want to express my opinion. I do not believe in God. Not anymore... My parents are Catholics, I am not. I believe in Evolution. If God existed, why would have been so many wars on the Earth? And why would bad things exist? Adam and Eve is just a stupid story to excuse this. We are told God loves everybody in the same way. It looks like it's not true... you see, many areas of the world live in a degraded quality of life. There is a high percentual of deaths, and God does nothing. He doesn't exist, or if exists, he does not love us at all. I bet that many of you believe in him just because they can't explain our existance in any other way... Well, I believe everything came from something else. I believe that 'Nothing' never existed, that there has always been something in our universe. And that changes happens... Everything's based on randomness. If there wasn't randomness, we wouldn't exist, cause everything would have been the same... God does not exist! (if he did, he would have punished me, uh? xD )
agrees with ricky ^^^ i also believe in evolution, people tell me every day that i will go to hell and i tell them "no such place" , "I dont warship a fictional book" there never was a god and there never will be there is no "better place" or "afterlife" waiting for us after we die, when your dead your dead. The universe wasent created in 7days, earth was around for billions of years before we came into existance. god says that there arent aliens, and i believe that aliens most likely do exist or did on mars, considering that they found a river and a dead bacterium. God is in my opinion the biggest scam to ever hit man-kind, there never was a god and there never will be.
Well, I believe that if God does exist, God isn't necessarily the one portrayed by Christians. If you choose to accept the literal words of the Bible, children are being taught to distrust science, along with the modern world. If God really did create us, then wouldn't our "God given" intelligence be given so we can understand more about the world rather than less? Religious people might find it hard to believe, but most scientists are comfortable with uncertainty. If a theory is shown to not be true, then they will try to find the problem.In Cern, Switzerland, a huge particle accelerator is in the process of being built, in the hopes of creating conditions that happened straight after the Big Bang. The scientists hope to create new particles, but it is never certain on what will happen. Hopefully we'll get some more answers on our existence if it works. But there will always remain the possibility, however small, that God exists. He just may be an observer, an entity that takes no action. But we can't prove that God doesn't exist, nor can we prove he does.
And with the large hadron collider, they are hoping to find the Higgs boson, also refered to as God's particle or the Force, which, if found, could be considered the way God interacts with us, or prove just the opposite. Not really rewarding for the discussion, and mostly speculations, but still an interesting side note. It will be interesting to see what happens when they start it up in may, I'm pretty darn excited.
