i believe there is a god, and that we go to Heaven when we die. but i also think that people, animals, and plants evolved from the time when god created them.

The only way a theory or law can be proven true, is if there are no ways to disprove it.

We're all walking counterexamples of evolution, because if we were mutated from some other organism, it is not likely to care for the young.
In the animal kingdom, oddities are eaten by the mother. ..And later consumed as milk by the siblings. ^^

Evolution hasn't been shown to be the definitive way of how we got here, but it is a widely accepted theory.
According to the theory of evolution, we evolved from mammals, who evolved around the same time as dinosaurs started to appear. They breast fed their young, and so were able to thrive. Animals such as turtles, have a lower survival rate.
So according to natural selection, animals who took care of their young, generally had a better chance of living. And so passed on this parental instinct to the next generation.
Mammals evolved from reptiles, who evolved from fish. There have been many different evolutionary paths from marine organisms. And many of them do not care for their young. Maternal instincts is just a trait, such as bipedal walking that help organisms survive better in niches that other creature would not be able to.
As for creatures eating their young, or killing their young, it's usually not senseless killing. A mother rodent may kill deformed or unhealthy offspring so to ensure a greater survival rate of the remaining young. A male may kill a female's young so she can become available for mating.
It can be senseless however, if a mother becomes psychologically distressed. But killing their offspring may relieve the stress, so it might not be as senseless after all.

As far as I know, God is only a name that is used to control very big numbers of people. There are things we don't know not because it's GOD's doing but it is our limited knowledge and understanding of things.

IF we were kept under control by a superior being then surely we would be trying to break free. But we're not and in 50 years, we would make the first step on Mars. That's a sign of evolution.

Nowadays, people believe in God because they are too lazy to learn theories, mathematics, etc (at least that's my oppinion).

Would you care to elaborate that statement?

Well, it's easy to understand people who would say that.

God just created a world that could create itself.
Meaning, God created the universe, and let set it alone
and let evolution take over the rest of the "creation"

I guess you can't really disprove this statement,
but you could say that one should notice
how the need to use God to explain certain things is mitigating.
it's only years ago, when people had absolutely no idea were we all came from
and God had to create everything. now he doesnt

I haven't been there so I can't say for sure. lol

In my opinion the evolution theory is totally right, but who can tell that this wasn't the way God used to create life? Cause science still can't explain a lot of stuff. Like the Big Bang theory. Ok there were 2 suns and one of them exploded, but how they were there in the first place? How did those stars appeared in the first place? Cause they couldn't just been there from nothing right? So I vote for both.

Perhaps those stares were the initial spark of our universe.

    And the
That same argument applies to God. How could he have been there from nothing?
    He's God, he just is.

Religious people can use that for anything otherwise unexplainable.

Personally, I like to focus on the more recent past than the creation of the earth and the living creatures that inhabit it. I believe that there is a deity that has great power, and that things change. That's enough for me.

i like to follow the "big bang" theory then evolution because there is so much scientific proof to support evolution where all there is to support religion is "faith" i do believe in ghosts but not life after death, i think you rot in the ground so im not sure how i believe in ghosts but i do because i HAVE seen them when i lived in an old farm house

I believe that God created everything, including himself. you cant get something from nothing, so matter exists means god exists, and god has to create the something out of nothing, and this is something only God can do. this doesnt have to be any religion though, just a creator

i think there may of never been "nothing" there was always "something" even blackness is something, you just said you cant make something from nothing but then you say that god made himself from nothing completely contradicting yourself for a long time when i was younger i believed in god then i studied all sorts of scientific things about evolution and all that and it seems completely insane that a god could be real. To me it seems like maybe god was like santa (yea i know a real guy gave gifts bla bla bla) the only reason you believed in santa is your parents told you he was real and sooner or later you find out or they tell you hes not, obviously if your folks pass away they cant fill your stockings or put presents under the tree and say it was santa so then it becomes obvious it was them the difference is that nobody ever ended the myth of god and said it was all a hoax to get you to follow certain set rules (like modern laws) and so with no confirmation he was real or fake fear of hell makes people want to believe in him, personally i think its a waste of life to devote time to someone or something that isnt there

I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the topic at hand, however I feel I should point out that your points would be much clearer and easier to understand if you would use more punctuation. Sorry about the interruption to the conversation.

Please try to stay on topic next time. I'm not so fond of improper grammar but it's like eh...not that big a deal. Thanks. - lazypando

Yes master, i shall focus on the proper use of the English language to please you and make it easier for you to understand. I am terribly sorry for causing you pain in reading such a terrible piece of literature!

We're learning about this right now in Biology and I believe in evolution. Everything just seems to make sense and they have fossils and evidence to prove their theories.
