Which would be best for a 13 year old whos really tall and skinny?

He doesnt have that much cordination but he's got some fast little legs.
And he's not too strong since I can take him down in a match.

    Opinions please?

For basketball, he'll have the height advantage. Which would be good for shooting and rebounding. And you gain coordination through interaction with the ball, as well as practise.
If he's not that strong, wrestling could build up his strength. But if he's weak, it might not be the best choice.
If he's fast and tall, with long limbs, tennis might be something he could get into.
What does he want to get out ofsports? Fun? Fitness? Because they all have benefits.

Tennis and track are probably the best. Track is better. For wrestling you don't need to be buff and big, but because he's tall he'd be in a higher weight class. For Bball, it's probably too late to start playing and be any good (but you can play a bit anyways, see if he's got any talent), and he'll have to buff up.

About the basketball, he's 13. You don't need to start younger to get good at basketball. If you practise a lot, you can catch up to the people who've been playing for longer.
If we're talking about a fun way to get fit, I think basketball's a good way to start. You make friends, improve your team work skills, and hand eye coordination.
But it wouldn't hurt to ask the boy what he wants to do. Let him try some sports, see what he likes.

He could always try football, that will build up strength and he could play Safety or CB or something on Defense...don't take much coordination to tackle someone. :p

Hard to tell, though, wish I had the height & weight measurements. But you do where pads and all that in football, it's not like hes the rb and is going to get hit every play.

But it does matter what he wants to do...if he doesn't have the desire/will to play he won't do good.

Yeah but a RB or WR might just run him over, thus breaking him in half.

well if he could get a little coordination volleyball is actually a sport mostly dominated by tall skinny kids. on my club team we had a kid who was 15 and he was 6'6" and weighed 160. he wasn't very coordinated either (that was his only pitfall) but definitely look into it. unless there isn't guys volleyball wherever you live. then i would say basketball.

I'd still say competitive swimming is the way to go. It gives you a sport/activity that you can do for the rest of your life regardless of age. Its low impact so you are less prone to impact injuries. Tall + Skinny = Perfect for swimming. Trains endurance, builds confidence (wearing speedo's in public), and at the age of 13 is a good age to start.

Professional gaming may be the way to go. Stick him in a room with water, food, ethernet, computer with a 2000 dpi mouse, and a copy of counterstrike, and leave him in there for around a couple years.

may not be healthy but you can get sponsors and what not and get some cash on the side. not a bad idea. it doesn't exactly build social skills though.

Yeah it can, only if by social skills you mean:

    "LOL PWNED"
    "I AM 13337"
etc... you know what I mean ;)

Professional Gaming is a bad idea for a 13 yr old...don't have him waste his life on that this early.

Besides, ask the kid what he wants to do...I'm sure he has an idea in his mind.
