ff7 for ps1 is the best...i've restarted it twice but havent played in at least 4 years...although i've never beatin it either. i got to the final part where ur in a cliffy area on ur way to sephiroth for the last time, but i was too lazy to get knights of the round and the monsters were tough if i remember correctly. red, cloud, barret FTW!
Ive only encountered one Final Fantasy Game I didnt like and that was Mystic Quest. Though im not sure if that is related to the original series. Even the original Final Fantasy was OK, I just didn't like how they gave you little to no direction whatsoever in doing stuff. My favorites are XI, XII, and VII /Crisis Core though.
Sadly I never got a chance to play FF7...because my computer is too new for the game, the sound wouldn't come out. -____-;; (Even with the patch and everything) I kind of stopped playing FF8, because I didn't have much time, and there wasn't even disk space on my computer. The only game in which I've really fully played is FF10, and I thought it was awesome. =D Can't wait till FF13 and FFv13 comes out.
I've tried playing FF7, 8, 9, 10. I'm not very good at RPGs so I've only beaten FF9 (and very recently too!). FF9 is my favorite just because I love the setting and the characters. However, my favorite character is definitely Quistis from FF8 =D
Best one in my opinion would be Crisis Core for PSP. Zack is awesome. The story about Sephiroths past is also nice and not to forget the amazing flash videos!!
Not only that Ice but also that the story has been extended, and very well, thanks to Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children, and Crisis Core. While Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus do not necessarily relate to the original story, they do give further view into characters who are nonetheless a part of the story.
I played FF XXII and I soo liked it!! RPG's are my favorite kind of games, by the way, does anyone has a suggestion of rpg for the ps2?
I made sure to scroll all the way down as soon as I heard the question as to not go with the group, but I'd assume I'm going to heh. Final Fantasy VII FTW!! Seriously though, the materia system was the best system ever used in any Final Fantasy series. That's my opinion though. Besides that I actually really enjoyed VIII with its complicating junction system, and expansive storyline. Not sure if anyone's played it, but Final Fantasy for the NES was a true classic as well, great games sigh. Whose going to get XIII. Heard it's going to be on 360 and PS3, im excited. I loved playing the series on PS1 and 2, but don't have a PS3. I'm glad the FF Franchise realizes not all it's fans actually own a PS3 Jane: You need to use Alcohol Soft and ensure you have a working copy. The actual disk wont work so you'll need a freeware version of it. Hope you can find one.
7 all the way for me, followed by 10 10 was the last good one. 12 was just....blah....WAY too dragged out.
FF7 and FF8. Both had great storylines, and unique playstyles to both of them. I especially loved Edea, as a character, in FF8!
