Wow, you actually made that yourself? That's pretty darn impressing if I might say.
Did you draw it all by hand or did you add effects in photoshop on your first drawings? Would be nice to see all the components you used since it's really a masterpiece.

    Yeah I made everything...

I started by rendering three sphere's in cinema 4d. Gave me a nice three dimensional guideline to start with for lighting and everything. The rest was done in photoshop.

I'm sorry for being off topic, but could you please make a guide or pm me some details? It would be pretty awesome to be able to do that. :)

Well... Every piece is very different, and i rarely do the same thing everytime, but i'll give you a general idea of what i did.

Rendered three sphere's in cinema 4d with some basic materials applied to the sun, mercury, and the earth, and i added some lighting.

Open the .tiff in photoshop, deleted the black using the mask i added in the render options.

I found some pictures of the sun, earth, and mercury on google. I integrated them into the image, overlayed them over the spheres, added whatever blending options to make them pop. Added some glow(easy enough, just circle marquee, fill with white, gaussian blur, overlay).

The pink cloudy stuff was just brushing.

Of course, theres a lot of stuff im not covering... Minor tweaks, little effects here and there.

Just open up and let the creativity flow! Try new stuff, keep your mind open.

Billeh likes the space scenes lul. I'd enter one of my old ones if I were allowed to..

EDIT: I'm entering one of my old ones for the sake of entering. Count it VOID if I'm not allowed to. I don't have much time anyways.

you might want to give credit on whose Terragen you used. Unless you made that yourself, which (No offense) I seriously doubt you made ;)

It does have someones name already on it and the rules state it has to be yours. Im not sure but I don't see why you would go through the trouble of writing your real name if that really is yours but I think something is fishy with it.

    That is my peice.
I used someone elses Terragen, which I'm sure he didn't mind.
If that's against the rules, then take me out of the competition.

Let me explain it to you.
Everyone here took the contest to mean something literal as space itself.
Zero on the other hand just did a very minimalistic piece where he defined space on the canvas.
Great job, and nice way to think out of the box.

Everyone else FAILED HORRIBLY!!! just kidding.
