I don't really have a stance on cloning, but I watched the video and something just bothers me terribly about this woman. She just comes off selfish and honestly, a little bit insane.
I would be still a no no for me even though its legit. Loosing someone or a pet is a natural process of life. We just have to be strong to accept it and move on.
I don't find her insane but deff selfish. Life and death is a natural process everyone has to go through. I don't think cloning should be just cause you lost your pet. If it had some kind of medical purpose I might agree
I agree with you. She was surely selfish and could not let go of something. This might be a problem because more research is used to cone living things. And humans might be next in line. If they used the research to clone healthy human organs, that would be very beneficial to society.
I do remember back in the day when a UFO religion called the Raelians who claimed to have cloned a human, back in 2002. I wonder if a cloned human would have the same lifespan as a normal human. Because Dolly the sheep, the first cloned mammal, had short telomeres. So some thought that she was born with the age of the sheep she was cloned from, and hence had a shorter than normal telomeres, which is also a result of age, because during our life time, our telomeres will continually become shorter. But this is not always the case for all mammals, some have longer telomeres. So with humans, until it actually happens, who knows?
Interesting site. I remember back in like 2001 there was a ton a news on cloning humans and bans. In my opinion the problem with human cloning is this. We will go too far. We will clone a human and then try to advance him/her into anything. Creating super humans, who might not even need to eat, sleep and are combat ready. Used to start wars and fight for us. Then dictators and slavery could come back easily, with human clones being soldiers and slaves. Or this could just be my crazy imagination for the future use of human clones.

cloning can be very useful in medicine and can help many people.cloning of animals/people is the same as having a twin brother/sister.so it's not the end of the world i think.
I wouldn't clone my friend(s) nor would I clone myself... actually, I doubt I would clone anything. I can see how it would be both practical and tactical to have clones, but I don't think they are the answer to the worlds problems...
(Who names their dog booger?!) But I think it's alright, they're just dogs...but pretty soon they will start breeding them into war machines, mixing rots and pits and finding ways to make them vicious...or other animals.
I heard when you clone an animal, the age is cloned as well. So when cloning a 2 year old dog, the clone of the dog will start off at 2 years old
