Just some facts about the U.S.

Civil War ended 1865. General Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant meet in a house and General Lee surrendered.
Thanksgiving became a national holiday in 1863.
Georgia was an original colony that was a safe haven for debtors.
The Comanche Indians were forced out of their homes and walked many miles. The march was called the Trail of Tears. Many of them died.
George Washington was never injured in battle.
If the Iriqious Indians had joined the side of the French in the French and Indian War, the French would have won.

Tell her that Africans were the first fully intergrated settlers (they were brought and left by the Spanish) and see what she says :D

EDIT: also that Columbus was an overhyped slacker, at least 5 otehr countries found the americas before him and he's credited for it :p

Well, I can tell you this as a resident: Georgia is no longer a safe haven for debtors. Haha.

Nice information. Sometimes random facts tell me something I never realized I wanted to know...like when Thanksgiving started. :)
