Do you think students learn better from men or women? Or do you think the gender doesn't matter?? Do you think Same Sex student/teacher learn better(as in girls learn better from women and boys learn better from men)?? Or just the opposite, that Opposite Sex student/teacher learn better?? Just wondering what you guys think, I personally think I learn pretty good from both, although I don't have many male teachers.
Personally I think i learn better from men. All my favorite teachers have been men, and many of my least favorite have been women. This year my english teacher is a man, and I actually enjoy his class. I normally can't stand english because it's so objective.
In my experience i have always learned better from a man then a woman...but that is just me...the men seem to be more at ease with the teaching and women have there days were they can be so mean you dont want to work for them...but that is just my experience...
Personally I think it's all down to teaching style. It doesn't matter what gender you are if you have a passion for the subject your teaching and can talk to your students your going to be a pretty good teacher. I think schools should be 50/50 in regards to male and female teachers I have had hardly any male teachers but at the end of the day it's the best teacher that should be employed not a specific gender.
Absolutely. Its all down to the individual and people shouldn't judge based on gender. There may be a disproportionate number of "good" male teachers vs "good" female teachers, but that doesn't matter at all. In my opinion, you can learn a lot from each and every teacher. If you really look back at your teachers, I think you can see that you learned a lot from every one of them. It might not be the course content that you learn, but every teacher contributes to who you are and will become. In terms of content however, I don't have a gender preference as long as the teacher is lively and is willing to go beyond the basic course outline.
From my experience, I tend to learn better and am more interested in the topic when I have a male teacher. I've noticed that the older you get, the more male teachers you see whereas when younger, most of the teachers are females.
It depends on the teacher and what theyre Teaching. I Have.... 2 Male Teachers, P.E. and Geography. I Do great in both classes. In the others, I Do Great, but I think you should be taught by the same sex, unless your a Gay/Lesbo
I think it's more about the looks and teaching skills than overall gender. Classes taught by pretty/handsome teachers just seem more pleasant and the students aren't so easily distracted Maybe it's their confidence and that they aren't so fed up with their job yet.
I think the gender doesn't matter at all in the academic side, but in my experience, the students tend to respect more a male teacher. I have an awesome calc female teacher, but the last year I had a terrible female teacher in algebra.
I actually think i learn better from men than women teachers. But im sure it has alot to do with age and style too. All the women teachers ive ever had was like really old. So if i had a younger female teacher i might have different views. But i also dont get along with girls very well.
To be honest I can't see the difference. There are some women who are prone to teach s subject better than men. But that's not the case. I have a teacher at my school who teaches physics and chem, but he sucks at chem yet he's teaching it anyways. Yet there are probably more than a few female teachers who knows their chem better than this guy. I think most of the time it comes from the education they received corresponding to the subject the teach, and a little bit of it has something to do with their personal life experiences. I think it's too complex to tell or be biased about genders and how well male or female, in comparison, teach.
I think men teachers are more composed as women and that's why i learn better from them.(i'm very unstable person and i need to learn in a sistematic order).i think men are better at this.but that's just me
I've learned more from men teachers, but more interested at women teachers because they're just more lively when they teach.
I don't think it's the gender of the teacher, more the personality. But I do think personality has a gender effect. Say a male likes to go out with the guys on the weekend, party, play football, that type of stuff. The male has a male teacher who also likes to do the same things. They will probably connect better and the male student will probably be more attentive in class. Now if the male has a female teacher who also likes to do "typical male things" then the male will probably be more attentive in the female teacher's class and learn better.
Doesn't matter I think, so long as the teacher is able to draw your attention, teaches well and has a fine attitude. Some of the teachers I have come across have such horrible attitude it makes the class really irritated that they wouldn't really want to listen to the teacher in the very first place.
LoL no. If he/she has outstanding abilities to teach others, you will no doubt learn better from him/her. the gender doesn't really matter, since normally you won't get any benefit from the opposite sex when learning things. (as a matter of fact, the opposite sex may interfere with your concentration )
