As I said, it's more for girls because of all the romance. I would prefer a good action movie any day. I think the actor for Edward isn't suited for the role lol.

I am 18, and I do NOT like Twilight one bit.
Edward Cullen pulled off a a better Cedric Diggory {sp?} from Harry Potter than he did for the main character of Twilight.
Almost most people I asked said they didn't really like it.
But I guess we all have different opinions. Some people only like the book, some liked both, but me, i'll like neither :p

the books...sucked. they were lame and so superficial
they plot line was...alright I suppose but Stephenie Meyer's writing is terrible
it could have been wonderful...if someone like Charlotte Bronte had written it
    but no...

as for the movie...I heard it was quite horrible and that all they did was breathe on each other
    lol

    ahahahhaha so true
though really...i can't imagine anyone taking that role seriously
edward is just so overly emotional
    lame

Wow very well said ( about the 15 year old girls part ). Like seriously, a week before prior to this day all these girls in my class were talking about it. God it was so annoying, and my one friend kept saying she LOVES Edward Cullin or whatever his name is. damnit keep it to yourself!

Judging from the comments made in this forum, I don't think that Twilight got a very good reception from the male part of the population, besides the got-forced-by-sister/girlfrend boys. lol.

Queens of darkness and their gorgeous boy toys should not be trivialised by the crazy, menopausal mutterings of some old bat of a "novelist" who's living out her youthful fantasies and sharing her regret of her lost youth by romanticizing some demons and forcing people who actually have some TASTE in literature (though this can hardly be classed as that) so suffer through the girlie ohemgee!s of eyes-glazed-over tweens everywhere who - for the most part - probably have the emotional development of a doughnut, too.

Vampires were created to be evil. Write them as such. They are not poor lost souls, discontent with their lot in life and the fact that they have so much power, who genuinely can't help the fact that they are completely gorgeous and have a thick coat of perma-guyliner. They are not puppy dogs who are incapable of actually feeling any malice. They have fangs. They hiss. And bite things.
Yes, they have been portrayed as regretful. Vampirism has been thrown out there as "just a method of survival." But you have to have some actuel WRITING TALENT to succeed at this. Anne Rice, Amelia Attwater-Rhodes, Scott Westerfield.................call me when you get a half of the amount of talent for prose or originality that one of them has in their little finger, Stephanie.

Not only this, I am against books made into movies in general. They never fail to disappoint. The twelve-year-old in me is still thinking mean thoughts towards whoever it was who decided that Artemis Fowl was going to be made into a movie. I'm going to have to sit back and watch them slaughter that. Delightful.

In addition, the people in charge of wardrobe/makeup took an entire cast of totally delicious men and made them look like sunken-eyed, walking corpses. I'm all for unnaturally pale, but make it look GOOD. It's not as if you're spending any money on a plot, for Heaven's sake, or developing a dialogue that doesn't make me roll my eyes in disbelief.

And I resent the term "chick flick." This implies that there would be some aspect of this comedic butchery that I, as a chick, would enjoy. Chick flicks make me throw things at the screen every time one of my 'sensitive' male friends takes it upon himself to educate me in the ways of liking girlie things.

lol. that could have been summarised in a "it totally sucks, man". and yeah, movies that originate from movies suck because to much is crammed into a short 1 1/2 hour show.

I'm a big fan of essays. my bad.

I'll summarize in the first sentence next time, so as to ensure easier reading. :D

And I forgot, there is one good thing about that movie. There is a ridiculous amount of Paramore associated with it.
    Hayley. :)

Oh, and I've written you another essay on the topic of sales......oops.
