Scuba Diving

    So, last summer I've gotten my scuba diving license and since I've bought more and more gear to accompany my new passion :D

    Are there any scuba divers around here? How long have you been doing it? What places have you visited?

    I've only been to Mallorca and some local lakes in Holland, but next summer I plan to see a lot more :)

    i would love to learn to dive.

    bit i believe it is quite expensive is it not?

    It's quite costly.. Getting your license is at least 300 dollars or something and equipment is about 1600 dollars and up (Depending on quality)

    It's expensive but a world opens up for you!

    Don't buy your own equipment. Rent.
    Second, I dived in Utila (major scuba island in Central America, home of the whale shark).
    It was a great place to scuuba :)

    Nice :) I wish there were more cool diving spots close to me ;)

    I had some of my gear given to me by my parents, I would never have bought a complete set otherwise ;)

    And I'm using half of it on a weekly pool training, so it's not really a waist to buy it :)

    Theres a nice diving spot near where I live. Me and my friends go all the time.

    You should go to Koh Chang and swim with the Whale Sharks :yup:

    I live in california, so there are plenty of scuba spots for me. I have been diving for 12 years, and i am the third ranked diver in southern california, and i am only 18 lol

    Wow.. I thought you weren't allowed to dive when you are younger than 10 years old :eek: Do you know someone who is a diving instructor?

    Yeah my dad is the number 1 diver in the state of california, so he had me out there at a young age

    That's awesome :) Wish I started a lot earlier..

    21 years old now, feels like I've missed a lot of underwater time :S

    Actually, my art teacher went scuba diving in another country; all you have to do is take a few stupid classes, and you get your license. It was in one of the islands, and they sold the equipment for a lot less. I guess it was something they did a lot in that country because it was so easy to get a license.
