This question is probably going to be one of the longest lasting until Apple fails.

I would have to go with PCs because they have a nice look to it. Macs, I find really annoying because they can't run a lot of programs because they are macs. Also, they screw up Firefox's look (to me). And many more reasons...

    Re: Debate: PC or Mac

Mac is less prone to viruses but has less support for programs compatibility, even with the Parallels enabled to run Windows on it the speed wouldn't be as good as a plain PC, though I think most business professionals go with Mac. Personally I'd go for PC cause most of the programs I use can be settled with using Windows, then again if I can have both then I'd just use Windows for gaming and Mac for work purposes. Depends on what purpose I guess.

pc because it supports almost all programmes whereas mac ony support a limited no. of programmes. I also prefer the look of PC's and justv in general i prefer them

And yeah i agree that it depends on the purpose you are buying for but on the whole i would say pc!

I like MAC because it has a really cool look. The only reason i don't like it is you cant play HL2 or counter strike on it.
But you can partition it with windows XP or windows Vista and i partitioned it with XP and i play all my games fine
btw i have a Mac Book Pro

    Re: Debate: PC or Mac

That depends. If you want to be able to run pretty much any form of software known to man (except garage band *shakefist*), definitely buy a PC running Windows (Preferably 7, but Vista's good too).

However, if you want pure unadulterated awesomeness-in-a-box, (But don't need to connect to a Remote Web Workplace, or recieve e-mail through Outlook Web Access, or use any sort of thing which resembles an ActiveX control, or play online Videogames, or *cough*... Yeah.) go for the Mac.

    Re: Debate: PC or Mac

Please please please please call it "windows" not "PC"

PC is a personal computer. An iMac or a Macbook can both be called "PCs".

I find it super irksome when people call it a "PC" when they really mean "Windows computer".

    I'm editing your poll :D

It really depends on what you are going to use it for, Windows are more fficient with processing programs, while macs tend to work better with other things

    Mac for sure.
    Why?
-You can make your computer run both Windows and Mac if you have a mac in 3 easy steps using the "Bootcamp" application
-Ive never had a single crash
-Vista is just a copy of mac pretty much >:)
-Virtual Machine support (run windows in 2 easy steps at the same time as mac)
    -Easier to use
    -Friendly interface
    -Toast :)
    -GetTube
-iChat is so much better than MSN whatever
-iMovie, iMovie HD, Final Cut Express, Final Cut Pro, LiveType, JES, ect... (SOOO MANY VIDEO EDITORS!)
    -Cocoa, need I say more?
    -iTunes=pwnage
    -iPhone+iPod touch SDK's
    -Mac SDK
-Apple Script (makes some things so easy)
    -iLife
    -Game Ranger
    -CoD1-5
-And oh so much more.. It would take hours to say all the reasons..
    :)
***I will probably not be checking who replies to this, and will NOT be replying to them as anyone who says vista is better is most likely just jealous of Mac, or, in some cases, can't afford them.**

"-Vista is just a copy of mac pretty much" Thats not a good thing to claim, given the pounding Vista has taken. :)

I use Windows XP, purposely chose it over Vista (I have both operating system installation disks)
I prefer it because of the compatibility/availability of games for it, which is where macs (with a dual-boot, etc.) are lacking.
    I love my computer :)

I dunno about choosing computer based on better commercials :p

Base it on what you need from the computer. One of the points that one of those ads made was that Makers of windows were spending money of adveritising instead of fixing problems with the computer.

Windows all the way. Must more functionality, capability, and power. Macs don't get viruses because they aren't compatible with ANYTHING.
