Surprisingly this is a pretty controversial topic. I've seen a bunch of boards about this on the AC, although Idk what it has to do with avatars
What are your thoughts on the book? Great series or utter crap?
Personally I think its just failure in general.

    Vampires do NOT sparkle! x.x

Ewww, Twilight, I hate that book. It's utter shit and is an epic fail. That book is so stupid and pointless. Sorry, Twilight fans, but Stephanie Meyer, don't try to be a good author like J.K. Rowling. You aren't, face the truth!

A lot of people love the book, and have seen the movie many times. I, however, saw the movie with a few friends and HATED it. I never read the book- since the movie sucked why would I read a book about it?!

I honestly thought i would HATE the series, refused to read it until both my little sisters kept pestering me. I love HP and LOTR, etc etc and I was thinking 'these books are going to be complete and utter crap...' but i gave them a shot. I read all four in five days without stopping. It quite literally sucked me in and I couldn't think of anything but those freaking books. And then I finished the last one and went what??? they talked it out? well....that WAS crap. the first book was my favorite though. edward intrigued me. my husband thought i was nuts for getting so into them though. haha.

Read all the books and seen the movie. The movie was horrid. ("Sparkling"? More like growing radioactive mold...)

The books are also utter crap as far as literature is concerned; as a fast read to up your page count for an Honors English class or the suchlike it suffices, but that's about it. The plotline is extraordinarily shallow and extremely predictable, every book follows essentially the same pattern, and the only reason the series is so popular is b/c it plays havoc on the feelings of teen girls. After all, just try and name SPECIFIC characteristics of Edward besides his physical features, and the vague description of him supposedly being good at piano/smart.

There are none. He's vaguely described so every teen girl will project their "perfect" guy onto Edward.

I loved the book better than the movie, but to be honest, both aren't that great. Kinda cheesy and slow:)

    NOOO! My post disappeared
    anyways, I was saying:

didnt' read the book, but Im halfway through the movie
I got interrupted and now im too lazy to wait for it to load XD

    but omg, that part
    when he was like

"there's something I have to show you..."

i thought it was going to be HELLA intense so my heart started going faster

    and then.

    I got.

    sparkles.

..... thank you.................... so anticlimatic. I had to laugh. It was so pathetic. XD

I thought the rest was good though!

I've read the books, and they really aren't that bad. Not my favorite, but not deserving of some of the bashing they get. They definitely don't deserve all the attention though. There are much better books out there.

The movie was kinda cute if you have read the books. If you haven't, then I understand why you hated the movie. The sparkling is a bit odd =/

    well I didn't read the book, and I always think books are better than movies. Anyhoo, I saw the film and I was like bleh about it. It didn't impress me at all and it was SO cliché. But somehow, something caught me so I didn't fall asleep. But I still wasnt impressed with it. I'm sure the books are alot better but the movie isn't really worth the watch. It looked like they didn't spend that much money on it, the effects were just bad. And a lot of their explainations didn't make any sense. I don't get all the fuss about it, it's nothing special, really ^^;
But of course, this is just my opinion :b

I just recently watched the movie, hadn't had a chance to read the book yet. But I will hoping that it is better than the movie.
Seriously, was it just me or was it some bad acting from the girl (??). Her acting seems limited to just giving blank stares like you are an idiot.
Anywho, I hope the book is better than the movie!

    Twilight is so useless.
Girls used to be deathly afraid of vampires, now they are inlove with them. Crazy world we live in

No, it's not just you. I thought she was overusing the whole narrow-sighted "love-struck" concept. I walked out of the movie half way through. A waste of $11.58 .
Personally, I will ost definitely not be seeing the sequel(s) due to the fact that the first book has completely lost its appeal with thanks to the movie.
