I'm in french right now and my teacher is about to start speaking complete and total french to us with not even the slightest hope for english and she recommended we listen to french music to help with our listening skills so does anybody know of any good french music/bands? I'm into most any kind of music and i don't care if it's mainstream i'm just too lazy to find this myself xD

Blow coxx - club music. You should totally blast "J'suis pas timide" in class some day. Classy.
Corneille - pop. He has a sweet voice, but he's kind of one of /those/ singers.
Éric Lapointe - kind of rock-ish. Not really heavy, just thumping.
Jean Leloup - he's pretty much pop. Nothing much - sort of fun, though.
La bottine souriante - they're very traditional québecois.
Les charbonniers de l'enfer - pretty much same as above.
Les colocs - kind of mainstream, but really good nonetheless.
Les Dales Hawerchuck - they're perky, quirky, twangy and awesome. Basically hockey in the form of a band.
    Les trois accords - hmm...rock.
Loco Locass - rap. Good rap. I like them a lot.
Malajube - pop, I guess, but not what you would expect.
    Marie-Mai - she's deffs pop. Not bad for a cookie-cutter princess.
Mes aïeux - Traditional québecois. Woo!
Patrick Bruel - er. He's soft rock??? Idk.
Philippe Katerine - he's a partyyyyyy. One hit wonder, though.
Pierre Lapointe - he's a little bit depressing, but an epic singer.
Tragédie - hahahaha. You should totally listen to them. Bad french rap = total win.
Yelle - pop. sort of club-ish.

I'll add some more in a bit, and PM me if you want song titles so that you don't have to put forth that effort either. :)
I love indoctrinating others with my music.

I know a few popular ones. Les Trois Accords, les Cowboys Fringants and Kaïn are 3 good groups from Quebec.
If you want something more classic, there is Francis Cabrel.
It's a really popular singer from France.
The kind of music isn't so good, honestly. But the meaning and the lyrics of his songs are amazing.
    Yea, he made beautiful songs.
Good luck :) And if you need help, my French is very good, since my parents wanted me to take classes when I was young.
And I still have some, so it's way better than my English. Don't hesitate to ask me questions. : D

KYO is a pretty good band, they play light rock and some pop, but it's nothing near the modern pop you'll hear ;D
