I strongly do not believe in love at first sight. Love is too complex just to be judged by a quick glance at someone. But then again, my uncle had a love at first sight, and he's been married for over 20 years and is a very happy man. What do you think?

I believe in love at first sight - I do agree that love is a complex thing though, but sometimes when you see one person, you just know it's right. My parents had love at first sight and they've been married for 27 years :'D so yeah, probably one of the main reasons why I believe in it ^^
I don't think there's such a thing... I mean, you can't just see someone and fall in love.. you have to get to know them first.
I'm going to have to second hunnybunny on this one; if you just see someone, how can you know and measure them? Just seeing them, how do you know what their values are, what they believe in, their personality, their intellect, what they care about in life, etc.? I suppose for some people it does exist, but I'd say that those people are the exceptions rather than the rule. I just don't see how such a concept is practical, OR possible.
just by seeing somebody you cannot judge there personality etc etc love is far to complex to be a momentary thing
I have no idea. I think it could be real. Or all just a cawinceadince. I've never met someone who has had a love at first sight.
I think it's probably more aptly named "lust" at first sight? You can't just truly 100% love somebody on looks alone in my opinion, it has to have a little more depth to work in the real world. Lol.
My personal opinion is that it's a load of crap. As is fate. I don't believe in fate, destiny, or any of that crap, really. Love is about liking someone :/ first impressions can make up a large percentage of that, but it's more actions and such later on that really make it.
I highly doubt love at first sight is a true thing. All you know about a person in "love at first site" is their apperance. That shouldn't mean love. Then again for people who had "Love at first sight" and it actually worked out, more than likely just chance.
I know that an individual can be strongly attracted to another if they're in an 'aroused' state (i.e., adrenaline released) and that that impression can stick, but 'love' I'm not so sure about.
Don't believe in it, mainly because you don't know anything about the person and truthfully your mind is basing it off looks but it covers it up to make you feel as though it is truly love imo.
i do. i just think 99% of the times it lasts until you get to have sex with the person. some people would call that strong attraction though.
I would definitely call that just a strong attraction :/ Love at first sight is just like 'omg I just met this person and I instantly want to marry them and never let them leave my sight ever ever ever again'
love at first sight is something i can really believe in, its even based on science pheromones are a great thing, i have experienced love at first sight once sadly she didnt feel the same way but thats a sob story for another time. on a rare occasion you will run across someone that as soon as you meet them you can feel a connection your heart beats faster and the world slows down so all you can see is that person they envelope your consciousness and grab your heart and before you even know what happened all you want is them in your arms holding each other and knowing that all is right with the universe.
