Getting the client is no problem for free. You can even download it from the blizzard site. The only thing that actually costs anything is the code to create and account. But yeah private servers if you can't afford it. Although private servers aren't really as good quality as the official ones. NPCs can be out of place and scripted fights aren't actually scripted. Stuff like that.
You can play WoW for free on private servers. While I had a 70 on retail, I still played some private servers and had a blast doing so, with their enhanced experience rates, instant max-level servers, and excellent pick-up group end-game raiding experience. Out of the many private servers I've tried, my personal favorite and the best one for groups and raiding was World of Chris (http://www.wocserver.org). The only things you need to do to be able to play on a private server are: 1. Download the WoW, Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King clients (pretty easy to find on any torrent site or even from the official website, I believe you can still get them there). 2. Find the proper patch downloads that match the patch compatibility of your private server (some of them are fully-updated, and if so, then you can just run your WoW client and Blizzard will automatically patch you up to the most recent). 3. Change a file called realmlist.wtf and replace a line with the private server's info. 4. Register on your private server's website so that you can log in. And that's about it... the only complaints I've ever had about World of Chris is that there are ever so occasionally some bugs (most private servers are bug-ridden) and there seems to be a lot of lag and disconnection issues (although they aren't always there, it may just be temporary problems).
i dont think there's a way to get WoW for free, but u can play private servers which are free google xtremetop100 for the top 100 WoW private servers
Yeah, World of Chris has custom legendary tiers of armor that drop in custom-designed raid dungeons with entire scripted boss fights. It's pretty impressive. Custom content is awesome!
I used to play WoC hahahahaaha XD Is it just me or does the PS population seem to be gaining on the retail?
I doubt anything will ever compete with WoW retails like 10+ million, but it might be getting a bit more popular. WoC seems to be well-populated nowadays, like 4 servers with 600 people each?
Well maybe not the PS community but some other games have memberships over 13m =) I really wish the Private Servers could compete and then take out retail WoW, the whiny brats would just hate that!
All the good private servers were closed. Their used to be good ones that ran fast enough to give you a p2p experience for free. The ones that are left are pretty crap. On a side note the people who ran the private servers were making an absolute killing. Those kids were pulling in about 7-9,000 a month.
To be fair, my friend who used to frequently play WoW, said he could get in free through pirated servers. You could try to find one, although pirated servers are almost never as good as the Blizzard ones.
No way other than private server and they usually have no scripted events at all like the real ones. Imagine raid bosses without the gimmicks to them. Just tank and spank
you can buy the full version. or lookup on youtube how to get on a Private Server, though getting on it take time and about 8gigs of space
I played on a free server a few months back...have no idea what's going on with it now. All I did was run around/train. After my brother stopped, my interest dwindled as well. *shrugs* GL on your search. P:
I've only heard of private servers If there was any way to get WoW free I'm sure they would have techies fix it
To be completely honest, the only time I've *ever* seen someone get WoW playtime (not an account/CDs) for free, was through mmowned. He was a private member (by donation/contribution) and someone had a keylogger that they somehow managed to use to steal about eight hundred time card codes from various people. Then they posted those codes on the mmowned private member forum, and my friend got like nine or ten months of free time out of it. Moral of the story; there is no free lunch (especially not if you live in NY, but that's beside the point). Somebody, somewhere, is always going to end up paying for your food. On the other hand, if anyone does cave and play, go make a charater on Draenor server alli side or Drak'tharon server horde side. Then come hit me up for free gold ;P
You can't play WoW for free unless you get a free trial. But you can play a private server clone of WoW, but it won't be the official one. These servers are usually better as they're more PvP based with high EXP rates.
