Just curious what everyone else is waiting for. I'm personally waiting for several games: The Sims 3 - played both The Sims/Sims 2 and was pretty fun, and the 3rd one is supposed to have the entire neighborhood play in real-time instead of just a lot.... though that'll mean I'll probably need a new computer -.- Star Wars: The Old Republic - Played the KoTOR series and absolutely loved them, and this is supposed to be the MMO version that has epic story lines. I just hope it's not too expensive Fallout MMO - After enjoying playing Fallout 3, I went and played the previous ones and have to say that I'm looking forward to this - especially since the original publishers are the ones in charge. I'd really love to play an MMO that is not so kiddie-oriented. So, what about the rest of you? What games are you all looking forward to?
I was looking forward to Resident Evil 5 as well ;D And also that DLC for GTA 4. That is AWESOME. .. and what's this about a Fallout MMO???
Damn, can't believe I forgot about Starcraft 2 /shame. I am so gonna fail school... As for the Fallout MMO, it was announced a while ago that they were planning one for a 2010 release, though I haven't read up on it in a while.
Woah. WTF will VATS be doing in an MMO? rofl. But if you had like 1000 people in smallish teams in the entire fallout 3 area or something.. that would be sweet. I would definitely play that if it were made well - but I don't know how well a job they can do at creating that. I wouldn't have thought they could expand it beyond the 1P aspects - but I guess the multiplayer possibilities with the landscape are, potentially, endless.
I *would* say 3rd classes in Ragnarok Online 1, or the implementing of the Ellr race in RO2, except now I've pretty much quit playing MMORPGs to go back to Neopets. =P
That was one of the concerns of the critics when it was announced - that a large aspect of Fallout was about feeling like you are one of the last humans alive, but if you have thousands of players running around....well, you get the idea. I've never played the RO games. Hows the storyline and game play like?
The Old Republic - I was a BIG fan of the KOTOR series... Diablo 3 - Nuff said. er... Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits - Through the Fire and Flames on Drums LOL
The storyline is extremely vague (just a little intro thing) to start with, but the quests are amazing. Besides the fact that quests are a break from grinding for exp, a lot of the quests are really interesting, and you learn about the foundations of the game. (e.g. this dungeon is like this because, the history of this city is, etc.) I like the gameplay styles of both games, though transitioning from the first to the second was a bit tough at first. In the first, you use your mouse to move around+attack, etc., and then your other hand would be on F1-F10 to use hotkeys (skills, changing equipment, etc.), unless you use battlemode (in which case your entire keyboard would turn into hotkeys). The first game had anime-style graphics in 2D, on a 3D background. (Castles, tents, trees, all of that sort of stuff you could rotate your screen and see in 3D, but then your character would become elongated and extremely contorted.) The second has fully 3D graphics, which are, imo, absolutely amazing. RO2 is still being beta tested, though, so there are still a lot of things needing debugging/patching (e.g. monster sprites lag, or jump to the tops of trees or other unreachable areas, etc.). You can swim, though, and jump, and use WASD to move around.
Yea can't wait for Starcraft2 and Diablo3, I like how I'll finally get out of playing a Blizzard game, from another Blizzard game =P hahaha
Im really looking forward to prototype. It looks so kickass! That and definately starcraft 2, ive been waiting for that game since i was a wee child
I was looking forward to Resident Evil 5 for the past few years, but then it turned out to be a re-skinned RE4 with worse voice acting. Dissapointing.
KILLZONE 2!!!!! I can't wait to get it after it got 10/10 in the reviews of like 13 different magazines.
