    Twitter.

Twitter is a website where users can create an account and post what they're doing with updates about their life and whanot and they can also follow other people.

Twitter seems to be highly used by e-celebrities(like famous youtubers) and real life stars as well, especially sports superstars!

Twitter seems to have all kinds of firefox add-ons and iPhone applications.

My question is, what's your opinion on twitter? Do you have a twitter?? Do you think it's good, dumb, useless, exciting?

Personally, I think the idea of twitter is kind of dumb. The idea of stalking people and getting all kinds of personal information in their life isn't my cup of tea. But I guess if people will use it and everything, can't be that bad.

heard of it, checked it out my thoughts personally for me useless, for others who likes everyone knowing what they are doing at all times and when they eat sleep and well you know then I guess its good. But personally I don't like it!

I find it ridiculous that such a pointless and useless thing became so popular. Honestly, if you or anyone else care enough about another person's activities that you would check their Twitter profile, I would hazard to suggest that you have far greater things to worry about than what Hannah Montana had for breakfast.

I didn't know that site, but if it's what it looks like, well I completely agree with this.
I wouldn't sign up on a site just to see what everyone else is doing, and to share what I'm doing too.
    Facebook is enough for me.

I think it's good for people that are on the go a lot. It's like a simplified version of facebook/myspace. It loads a lot faster than most social networking sites without having to switch to mobile versions of the site (and lose some key features like in m.myspace.com). Plus, it's a good way to find info about upcoming projects from big companies and such.

Personally, i find it useless. :)

Personally, I just don't understand Twitter. i have a Facebook and really that's all i think you need. everyone one of my friends doesn't need to know every little aspect of my life as it happens, and I'm sure they really don't care. I guess for celebrities it's a bit different though, they are used to people knowing everything, might as well tell them yourself on Twitter before it gets skewed in the grape vine to the tabloids. That's just my take on Twitter. Like acrasie said, I find it useless.

I hate that Twitter even exists, and I'm even more annoyed that my friends have actually started using the site religiously. I'm like...so ashamed to even call them my friends. -_- I just can't believe that people are narcissistic enough to think that anyone cares about what they're doing from moment to moment. Sorry, last time I checked, walking your dog was not breaking news.

It's not narcissistic to keep an updated status...it is the choice of other people whether or not to look at it.

If they want to keep an updated status- fine, but they shouldn't subject other people to their mindless "tweets" by requesting that people follow them. Sorry, if one more person asks me to follow them on Twitter, they're getting pimp slapped.

Yeah I'm with most of you people thinking its dumb and useless. I don't understand the draw to it. I guess since it's easy and simple just to post statuses all day, but that sounds boring to me. And the whole follow thing just sounds creepy at best, should just be called stalking lol =P

Personally, I'm a big fan of Twitter. There are a lot of celebrities on there that post really good "tweets," aside from Miley Cyrus. I do not follow her *shudder* Basically, it's kind of a very simplified version of blogs. I particularly follow certain musicians on there, and it's easy to find out if they have a new single up on iTunes, or if I can preorder their new album, stuff like that. Actually, I have some friends that are at the National Forensics League national tournament in Birmingham, AL right now, and the website that is streaming the results has a Twitter, so I can get the links to the results page through Twitter instead of having to keep a window open to the website all day.

I started using Twitter because I was bored one day. But now that I've come to explore it a bit more and use it regularly, I find that it has its advantages. And actually, a lot of businesses are using Twitter in order to reach out to clientele and get them up-to-the-minute updates, quickly and typically efficiently. It really has its advantages.

Yes I have a twitter. Its OK, but lacks actual "socializing" that sites like MySpace and Facebook allows. Its good for stalker celebrities though :D.

I never knew what Twitter was and always heard about it on those cell phone commercials and read about celebrities using it. So finally I checked it out and signed up and put "listening to music" as my status thing, but haven't gone back since. I personally don't have the desire to stalk celebrities and the music I listen to.. well, i doubt the artists use Twitter. But I can definitely see how it has gotten so popular.

Twitter is a joke in my opinion. The fact that all it is in my opinion, a glorified facebook status, got popular astounds me. Yes I made an account, but I don't use it. Its a waste of time, and a lot of whats posted on there is useless. A lot of advertising people/political crap/whatever follow me and its annoying. Too lazy to sign in. But its not really worth the fuss.

In my opinion it's quite useful. I'm always online, so it's fun to just receive updates from all kinds of people, especially famous ones. I like to read them.

It can be useful as it has been done a few times to solve or aid in crimes. I just rather don't care what other people I don't know are. I like to read tabloids however, so I'm kind of hypocritical of myself.

In my opinion, I think Twitter is a combination of dumb and useless. Yeah, the two negative options you listed.

I think it's just a little too simple for something that everybody's obsessed about. It's just like changing your status on Facebook, MySpace, even AIM, except a little more advanced in that area. It's good for stalking a celebrity's every move though ;)
