Anyone else ever played it? After years of thinking it was cool looking I bought a month of play time a while back. It was pretty cool, especially the customization. But I got bored of it before the month wa sup, which is pretty regular fr me. I mention it because I've been getting emails for a lot of updates going on with it. First is the new expansion, which lets you be a rogue, neither hero nor villain, which is kinda cool. I think they also came out with a mission architect recently as well. And, just a few days ago, they seem to have come up with a way to change the colors of your powers, which was something lots of people wanted if i remember correctly.
didnt they make two version of that game as well a city or heros and of baddies lol. and does it cost monthly to play or just the main cost of the game?
They combined City of Heroes and City of Vilains, so you can choose. You pay by month, but they have a lot of free content that they don't seem to be letting up on anytime soon. I haven't palyed too many MMos, but i thought it was fun and occasionally I want to play again.
I tried this game... It was a cool idea except for the lack of skills early on and the need to have friends... I would play it if there was a private server that worked.
Yeah, it could be quite troublesome working yourself up to where you were atleast decent. It stinks not to have a travel power as well, but there were ways around it, like special missions that'd give you temporary abilities and special offers, like the jetpack you'd get buy getting a certain time card.
Yes, it has a purchace cost and it is pay to play... I believe it is the same price as WoW 14$ a month... Def between 12 and 15. excluding tax.
I would imagine so. You can pay buy getting cards with codes on them, and you can likely order those if you can't by credit card.
Ok, thanks. I'll think about it. Some/Few games IP Ban certain countries, I hate it when they do that especially when I like the game.
You could always use the free trial to confirm that you are able to connect to the servers without a problem... It appears city of heroes has a 14 day free trial no CC needed... Not sure the exact details... but the link is here... http://www.cityofheroes.com/trial/index.html give it a whirl before buying. (Note, you will be limited to a certain level or map or something.).
Yeah, your level is limited to a point before you start getting cool powers and you're only able to talk to the people close to you, so it's difficult to get on a team when using the trial.
