Introduction Ok, so I noticed newer members sometimes didn't know they had to unzip the files. Here, I'm gonna put up some programs you can do so. Oh, and these are all freeware 1. Zipeg This is one of my favorite unzippers because it is nice and simple. It's a powerful browser and viewer that can read just about any imaginable compressed file you would need, and it supports Mac! Windows XP, Vista; Zipeg 2.7 (picture is linked) Download Beta (version 1.3) Download for Mac (Tiger and Leopard) Tutorial (Windows) Tutorial (Mac) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. ZipItFree This is the one I use. It's a bit more advanced, still free so that you can create archives too! It supports less files than Zipeg though. Files supported: ACE, ARC, BH, BZip, CAB, GZIP, JAR, LHA, RAR, TAR, UUE, XXE, ZIP,Zoo, & Archive Stream Download (Windows Only) Tutorial ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. ExtractNow This one is also compatible with a ton of compressed files. Download (Windows Only) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. 7-Zip Yes, this is one is also a great choice! Download .EXE (Windows 32-Bit) Download .MSI (Windows 32-Bit) Download .MSI (Windows x64) Download .MSI (Windows IA-64) Download Command Line Version (Windows 32-Bit) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Credits None of these programs are mine in any way ;D. http://zipeg.com/zipeg.html]Zipeg ZipItFree Extract Now 7-Zip
Wait, never thought WinRAR was free though Lol, you can't -cash yourself, can you? I already know what jokes you are going to make
i see the blinky thing at most once a month you don't see it if you're just extracting/compressing only if you open the whole program up on accident or something
no doubt because you opened the whole program all you have to do to extract is right click then extract
Oh, bleh, I'm stupid :back: I usually just open the whole program. Bleh, now I know Thanks *adds to guide, but is too lazy *
Hmm, should add Extractnow, able to unzip a ton of different formats: http://www.extractnow.com/ Also, 7-zip is one of the best for free: http://www.7-zip.org/ IMO, 7-zip is way better than Winrar
I used to use WinRAR, but then I started using Zipeg and now 7Zip. 7Zip is good ...in my opinion, can match WinRAR (turn into LossRAR)
