I thought it was a strange instance, but apparently my friend wasn't surprised when I told her. She said, "they actually do a lot of that ridiculous stuff".

    :nope:

Urgh, willing to work on getting a court case together, not willing to expand her search and be a little more creative and open-minded about job opportunities. Its hard in the environment we are in I'll give her that but even if she wins the case shes gonna be disappointed in life if she doesn't try a little harder at something before blaming someone else, how long can she live on a reimbursement of tuition fees?

That is pretty outrageous. Highly doubt she'll win the case but you never know i guess. And sadly there are a lot of college graduates who come out and end up working low end jobs because of the current economy. I personally know someone who graduated from a pretty well known university and he currently doesn't have a job that is part of what he studied, and its a low salary compared to other college graduates.

She will not win... If the school had no program in trying to find people jobs... Then that would still only increase the chances of her winning by about 5%.

I was looking for something that would make this a logical suit before I read the article... but there isn't one.

Oh, LMFAO!! How stupid is she? No wonder she didn't get a job :D

Lol, it never really guarantees you that you can get a job out there, or they pay for your tuition in return :p

Now people might be scared to hire her since she likes to sue people if things don't go her way.
She needs to understand the economy is bad at the moment and not that many people are hiring.
And if they do hire, they want the best, not people kind-of-o.k. at doing whatever they majored in.

Lol, my teacher actually told me about this

I'm still shocked there's someone who believes it's the school's fault that she can't find a job!

She's pathetic. It's not the school's responsibility to guarantee a job for a graduate. Besides her 2.7 gpa is mediocre at best.

2.7? That's not even mediocre; that's below-average to be nice, and abysmal IMHO.

$72,000 for 4 years of college is NOTHING.

well technically a 2.0 is average because that would mean she got all "average" grades which are c's but in todays world yes a 2.7 is worse than average... and this is ridiculous she'll probably win the case because she'll blow all the money she's gonna win on an amazing lawyer and be stuck with a pissed off university and still no money... why can't people understand?

With grade inflation, average GPAs at most top notch universities these days are above 3.0

Some are even upwards of 3.3-3.5

It's pretty absurd, but a difficult thing to control.

    Yes.

I didn't realize it was the university's duty to force companies to interview students :nope: , man, I missed out. I did all that job searching myself, what gives!?
