Ok, I know this can get kind of personal and/or gross, so lets try to keep it as clean as possible here [...] , and i'll keep the bad jokes to myself ;)

I am a rather hairy guy, not as bad as some, but I'm pretty hairy. I don't have a hairy back, but that's about it... I don't particularly like all the hair, it's troublesome, and just hurts sometimes, for example, I get "hair cramps" if I wear tall socks... If I was brave enough and there were a relatively inexpensive permanent way to, i would just have all hair removed from the neck down. Heck, I'd even have my facial hair permanently removed...

What are your thoughts about body hair (men and women) and it could be arms, legs, arm pits, chest, face, back etc...? Gross, sexy or indifferent? Where is it sexy or gross? What do you think about having it removed?

well honestly i don't prefer body hair on a guy, even though im a guy and won't usually see it i do have to look at it when i'm say at the beach or swimming or people wear socks, and i honestly don't mind like thin blond leg hair and stuff like that cuz you can barely tell it's there half the time but as you said if you're getting "hair cramps" which i know what you mean then it's a tad too much xD but meh i also run cross country and do track so looking at people in singlets when they have hair sticking up out of their singlets and stuff is just completely gross like when your sitting at the starting line waiting for the race to start...

I can totally picture this, and empathize with you greatly... I used to be a gymnast and some of the "uniforms" that are required should be outlawed for men... I mean, seriously, you want to put a guy in a one piece bathing suit and stick "boy short" ladies underwear on them and call it a uniform? o_O You see WAY more than what is necessary... Sometimes you wonder how it is possible to see so much hair spilling out of the uniform. Definitely not a pleasant experience. :nope:

Well, first of all, too much facial/body hair on a woman is just not cool. Perhaps the same applies to us men? But ill let women be the judge of that.

As for me, I do have quite lot of hair on my legs/arms. ( lol I get "hair cramps" too :D ) But those arent bodyparts one should shave, at least not imo.
The rest, like my chest, is average I guess, but I dont shave that part either. I guess I consider myself lucky, being extremely hairy would be annoying I guess ( too much work )

my girls better have no hair anywhere. If i saw a girl lift up her arm and have hair, i would probably just leave. And same if i noticed a mustache or anything else like that

I don't particularly like hair on women either, but if it's just a little stubble because they didn't have a chance to shave or something, it's ok... I'll at least give them the chance to shave/wax or whatever... But if those places are hairy than I am and they intend on staying that way... I would have to save something or leave... I know it's probably because of culture or whatever, but I just find it kind of gross... :nope:

I personally love facial hair on men. But no chest/stomach hair, that I find kind of gross. And no "down there" hair for either sexes, thats just dirty looking.

I dislike having body hair, but I'm also a big fan of being bald as a hair style so maybe I'm just weird. Facial hair is ok (on a guy) cause beards are funny but anywhere else I'd rather not have it

Haha, when I saw this thread I totally lol'd.

Erm, hairiness isn't a attraction for me at all. (on guys that is =P). It's nice if guys are clean shaven of course. But they can't do anything about their leg hairs though or they'll be laughed at.

I'm glad at least some are enjoying this topic :) I do know people that rid themselves of hair in a lot of places with different methods, but usually, they are body builders and can get away with it because it's common place... You actually don't see many body builders with hair, though I'm sure they exist. But I think if they can get rid of their hair without being severely chastised, why can't I? o_O

This is completely depends on the person, but in general I don't mind if the woman has forgotten to shave her armpits or legs every now and then. As long as she hasn't shaved off her carpet completely. I don't want her to look like a child down there, that's just disgusting.

On a woman its a no brainer, no hair at all except possibly the standard small areas in specific places and in preference to this area would be as virre says "A childs look" (That was the best way to put it without being explicit but now i sound a paedo) :p Anything else is wrong.

On a man it can vary, some guys look hot with hair some don't. Personally i'm the least hairyest guy i know at 18. and i MUCH prefer it that way :) I'd hate to be hairy, and shaving once every 2mnths is a pain as it is :p

Oh, really? How awfully good of you. :p

I have to agree though. Hair on women is just terrible. I have my legs and bikini line waxed every few weeks and after the first few times, it doesn't hurt so there's no excuse. It also means that the hair grows back way finer and softer so in between you can just use an epilator.

Because I have dark hair, I get hair on my top lip, which is really fine and you can only see it if you're looking for it close up, but I have this waxed too. Yeah. I feel like... an ape or something now I've told you all this, although most dark haired women will have this. Honest [...].One thing though... I just can't bring myself to have under my arms waxed. I don't know why and it's really annoying as it means I have to shave them every single morning, but I just get all stressed thinking about it. I think it's maybe because I'm insanely ticklish perhaps. I can't let anyone touch me there. Anywhere else, just not my armpits. Oh, and definitely not my feet.

On men, I like a bit of hair. My boyfriend is pretty hairy actually. And I LOVE men with facial hair <3. In fact, I'd even let this guy touch my armpits: http://www.ninjavspenguin.com/blog/wp-c ... rit-if.jpg.

    Lots of sharing today :D

Hmm in my opinion women should have no hair whatsoever, or what SoC said. I'm pretty extreme in that I guess, I start feeling kind of nauseous. I actually don't know if all men are like that, but most of my friends think about it that way too.

And as for men, I think we're allowed a bit of armpit hair, and leg hair? Something like that.

Having hair is part of being human. I think people have become brainwashed thinking about supermodels or people in magazines with washboard abs and no hair. those are the same ads that are modified ,airbrushed, and basically redone with computers.
Hair is good and not just because I have chest hair and facial hair but because it is natural and everyone has it.

Oh, I just remembered something related... Does anyone know the band the Dresden Dolls? I saw them a couple of years ago and the singer (who is a women) had a sleeveless top on and loads of hair under her arms. It was gross, but my boyfriend thought it was fine o_0

I prefer women to have no body hair whatsoever, but as for guys - well, I'm not gay so I can't be a perfect evaluator of what is and isn't attractive on a man - I think body hair is something guys should have. Certainly not to wolf-man extremes, in that situation I'd say it's okay to do something about it but, I mean, men are men, they're supposed to be somewhat hairy.

I'll never understand why some guys wax/shave their chests, legs, arms, etc. I'm a moderately hairy guy and, while I do trim and maintain a specific area at the behest of the girl I'm seeing, I'd balk at the idea of waxing my chest or legs. Ridding oneself of body hair is considered effeminate for a reason.
