i have an assignment for music that is due on wednesday and it's a work requirement so we have to do it.. i just have no idea how to. we have to write a 300-400 report/analysis on 2 songs. the first song is: Is This Love by Bob Marley which is a style of reggae music. the second song is: Autumn Leaves by Cannonball Adderley which is a jazz style. this is what my assignment sheet says: Look at the 2 cover songs, contrasting in style, that you are involved in performing. Compare and analyse the songs and their stylistic features. Present your analysis as a report. Compare the following aspects of the songs: 1) The composer/performer/s. His/her background and influences, socioeconomic, political or geographical situation/influences. - 50 words each song 2) The stylistic features of the song. Including: form, tonality, harmony, texture, mood, ornamentation, dynamics, orchestration, articulation and characteristic patterns (such as patterns or themes, chord progressions, rhythms, melodies and motifs). - 100 words each song 3) Outline each song's structure (eg. Introduction, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, instrumental lead break, middle 8/bridge etc) - 50 words each song so those who have an ear for music and have some knowledge on the subject, i'd love your help. i will +rep and love you forever<3
Ohh sorry now. I'm not aware of all the music terms. And I really don't have an ear for music. I only came into the class a month ago and we only have theory sessions once a week, in which we don't learn anything because our teacher is short tempered and kicks the entire class out within 15 minutes.. And now he's sprung this work requirement on us and I know jack. So eh.. I was hoping someone here could help me out.. That's why we have a blardy homework board
Try looking at the genre of music, and write how the actual songs conform or go against the genre they're in. Perhaps write about the meaning behind the lyrics, if any. http://www.directessays.com/viewpaper/90486.html Or google it. You could probably do something similar with Autumn Leaves.
