Basic line is, I'm really really considering joining the army - just to see if I can pull it off, then I might educate myself there before joining the police force (if that fails, I want to study law, I know two very different things xD)
Anyways, I was talking to a (girl) friend of mine about it, and she was like; don't you think it's a huge turnoff for boys? And I never ever thought about that xD So I'm just curious about your views - do you think it's too masculine for a girl?
Not because I wouldn't join from that silly fact, but I just wanna know :p

It pretty much mixes man's two greatest likes: women and camo, and puts them into one neat package.

That being said, it can turn a relationship upside down because sometimes army girls are a tad masculine and *cough* tend to wear the pants in the relationship? So to speak.

In my opinion, it's not so much to do with the masculine vs feminine aspect, as that those who've served that I know aren't easy to get along with. Very short fuses, so to speak. That might just be a coincidence. But then again, I'm pretty biased against any sort of armed force, as it removes people from their loved ones.

Rofl, seriously? - I thought guys would find it repulsive.
And yeah, I do know some girls in the army, and I must say very masculine girls :b and people always tell me I would never be able to do it, so I want to show them I can!! I just need to get in shape :0

wow... you want to become an officer?. I did the opposite i failed at the whole law thing and now I'm going to the police academy in September. I was also considering joining the army but the world is to volatile right now and i dont feel like being sent anywhere.

I don't think being in the army would affect any relationship you could eventually have. in fact i like a woman in uniform. :p

Yeah, I think being a police officer would be more "my thing" than all that reading =P My brother and father are both police officers, so it's kinda appealing to me :b
Awesome! Yeah I know about sending people somewhere, I wouldn't really like that either D: but I guess it's all just a part of it - I wouldn't go anywhere dangerous though, as I would be some kind of translator :p I have to learn arabic in 2 years oO

I wouldnt think it as a turn off if I was a guy, my sister is in the army and she loves it. I am quite a feminine woman and I have been a mechanic for a while now and I have trouble keeping the guys off me  As long as you have the "balls" to stand up for your self and not let them get you down you will be good. Most guys are quite open to woman doing a predominantly mens job and will help you out rather than be dicks to you.

Go for it I say :yup:

My thing is as long as you don't let the army make you a different person. I have female friends who've joined the army/air force and are still the same people because they think of it as a job and opportunity not something that re-labels who you are. The there are my other friends who became all "for honor and duty" and made it a lifestyle thing and became completely different people (not that I have anything against it by any means). If you're thinking about joining just to see if you can hack it, the military in general is just a big endurance race if you can handle getting yelled at and being told what to do it's a friggin cake walk(except for when you get deployed)

You can be different (between your army self and your relationship self), so I imagine it's just fine, kinda cool that you want to serve your country, too !

In my opinion, and no offense meant, but you shouldn't join the army if you're just doing it to prove someone wrong or to get into shape. There are more effective ways that don't involve risking your life to do that.

On the topic, I think it depends on the girl. I think there are plenty of army girls who are really hawt, but there's also a few of them that are too butch for my tastes.

I don't look at it as risking my life, as I would never do anything that could put my life in danger - then I would quít it right away.
I'm NOT joining to serve my country, I think of that as kind of ridicilous, and I hate the Iraqi war and wars in general - so this is really just something I wan't to do to prove something to myself, and kind of challenge myself. And I can also just stay there for 4 months and get the training, then just quit. I don't know which I'm going to do yet, because I can't join the police force until I'm 21, so I have 2 years where I need to do something anyways, and being in the army would look REALLY good on my application to the police too =P So really, this isn't something I wan't to do to honour my country, or whatever people do it for :b I know America is very different with their army and such. I have some friends I met in America, one of them is in the army, and he's like: death before dishonor. I cannot relate to that, at all..

i dnt think that its a turn of it just depends on the personality of the person like some girls are more masculine then other girls and like to boss people around so youll be fine as long as you no who your friends are or were lol and just stay your self

I just asked my fiance and his mates for you, and they seem to think it's a massive turn on.

I think it just depends on the woman, if it is some macho-manly woman, then it's a turn-off. Not all army women would be bad I guess.

A hot chick in a uniform = big turn on.

As long as you don't turn masculine butch then you'll be fine =)

No way would it be a turn off. Not to me atleast.
I'm currently enlisted into the Army. Airborne Infantry is what i'm going in for.
    I leave February 12th.

    But back to the point.
I would rather a girl that isn't all high maintenance.
I like girls that won't freak out if they get muddy or something along them lines.
So it really just depends on what the guy is looking for.
Turn-On for some. Turn-Off for some.

Army girls are definetly not a turn off.
If it is to people then that's pretty retarded. S:
When they go to army, it means they want to for their own explicit reason, or whatever it may be.
I know this pregoo army girl and shes pretty cute ;)
    but yeah,
army girls= not a turn off
