    Something is definitely going to happen on 2012, for example massive solar flares have been predicted by NASA around that time. Whether it will be the end of the world we cannot know for sure. I know a person who has premonitions, and has seen huge solar flares like nuclear explosions wiping the world's surface then, but whether that will really happen I'm not sure.

    i don't think so. there are so much of such predictions already and the end never came. it has such a date to add to the mystery.

    but on the other hand i'll be graduating at the end of 2011, i certainly do not wish that after 15+ years of study i have to die without even getting a job. if the end is to come i wish it come soon.

    It'd be a tiny bit more believable if we were told how the world was going to end. No chance as is.

    The 2012 idea is exaggerated. The prophecy states that it will be an end of era, which, is actually a shifting in the way society worships. I do not think that the world will end, but with everything going on (maxed out population, global warming) there will be a serious change in the way we all live.

    I think the whole situation was a small thing turned into a massive panic.

    It's the same with Nostradamus "predicting" the two towers explosion. He drew two stone towers on fire, not the same date as the actual two towers explosions, but two towers on fire nonetheless.

    Now everyone thinks he "predicted" the two towers explosions simply because he drew a picture and said two towers will burn.

    Can anyone else say large coincidence?

    The world has been doomed so many times now. xD

    I read somewhere that the Mayans calender didn't end, but they started a new one of something.

    Yeah, the Mayan Calender continues because 2012 is the end of an era, not the end of the world.

    There will be life after 2012 :p

    Its funny that the media is trying to put fear into everyone by making the movie about it.

    Well, Y2K never happened, so I doubt this will. xD
    I still think the world will end by some asteroid/expansion of the Sun. Or maybe a nuclear war...

    Nah. The world will be fine. There's no logical reason for it to implode or whatnot.

    But yeah. Would be cool if it did implode a little (if that were possibvle) to cull the population a bit. There's far to mnay of us around for my liking....
