Don't quite remember the first movie, but I liked this movie. Jackie Chan makes a great instructor and Jaden Smith looks like he has a bright future.

I JUST saw this movie tonight.. we weren't in the same theater were we?! lol jk. But yea, I loved this movie! I liked the connection they made between Jackie Chan and the kid. Definitely made the movie more heartfelt, and I just <3 Jackie Chan in general lol.

Right on! I also really liked the bully. He actually made me feel scared for Jaden. Just the way he looked gave off a sense of fear. Plus when you add the fact that he'll kick your ass if you stand up to him makes him even scarier. Toughest bully I've seen.

I liked the movie as well but it just didn't seem like a typical kung-fu movie.
    Not bad though.

Well, I don't really remember the first karate kid, but I was told that the new karate kid follows the original very closely.

My bf was saying the same thing about the title.. but Kung Fu Kid doesn't have the same ring to it.. and I'm sure they had to suck in the original movie fans ;) I think it had a lot of similarities to the first one, but it had enough differences to make it it's own movie and not a complete remake.

Omg. Sickest movie ever. Saw it with Megs yesterday. SO FRIGGEN SICK. I was like, in awe the whole time.
I started copying him after the movie, and started doing flips and like the whole ninja kick up thing when you fall lol.

It was good though, and the flips... oh Michael. <3

I wanna see this so bad, too. And I even remember the first one, so it'll be interesting to see how Chan lives up to the original Mr. Miyagi's standards of awesome. lol

Saw the trailer, my friend is really keen to watch this movie with me.
I'm picky with my movies because it's expensive to go these days, so I'll just until DVD comes out. ^^''
