wondering if it can be made so that to rank up you need to be a member for a certain amount of time like this new mass spammer that keeps making accounts just keeps going up to level 3 but if there was a restriction for like level 2, and 3 and 4 of being a member for xxx amount of time than it could prevent people spamming to reach certain levels
That would be nice. I always try to give Neg rep to the spammers. haha. Not sure it does anything, but they are annoying.
Yeah there should already be a limit... So I really don't know how that spammer was getting all that forum cash. I know you get a certain amount of cash when you change from Level 1 --> Level 2 and stuff but I don't think its THAT much. I saw him have like 900 forum cash.
We'd prefer it if you reported the spammers. That will go a lot further than a neg rep will. As for the cash limit, there is one but we're in the process of fixing it.
What I fear is that TNT may be one of those spam bots. They spam, get up to Level III, then have access to the private forums. And that puts accounts in danger
That's why it's important for people to report as soon as they see this occurring. There will usually be at least one mod on at a time, so action can be taken to ban them more quickly, hence stopping the acces to these forums, particularly the black market.
All spammers are banned easily within 30mins, just report his posts. DO NOT REPLY! And contact a mod on MSN if you see fit (and have one added) There is a limit in place of 30 points per day, which also restricts level 2/3/4 access. However there is an issue which ricky (Prod) is looking into everytime I bug him At the moment the spammers are gaining nothing, apart from a slight annoyance of causing a mod to click 3 buttons. However, as the 30 cash limit isn't working. I've edited level 1-4 to require 2 day minimum membership to enable all posts in the level 1/3 private chats to remain safe and secure to prevent the risk of any spies/stealing of information. (However in editing stuff in that page, it ALWAYS creates some problems - So if you notice anything not working over the next 24hours, please post ) Much <3 SoC

Thought that it was only the forum cash that was limited to 30 a day though; didn't know that this also applies to your post count, unless I'm interpreting what you said wrongly?
Where are these spammers you guys speak of? I don't see any but I've only recently joined these forums. Do they just use automated programs to make a ton of posts in a short amount of time?
They get banned pretty fast but still they come around every so often and its not always an automated program sometimes its people just posting random, spam posts, nothing of meaning and such
Thats because us mods are awesome and ban them fast Theres 2 types: Bots - Make a post every 0.5seconds using a programme and get like a 1000 a day. People - Post random crap in stupid topics, much slower and not as much bother but still irritating The new wave of bots that have come into effect is the problem, and hence the requirement for downloading programmes has changed. Dw they're wont be a captcha for posts, Far too much effort then
