Last month Lyoto got robbed, now Nam. Nam was superior in the entire fight, Garcia scored 2 or 3 takedowns and the judges gave him the fight. lol
The judging system has been flawed for a very long time now. Ken Shamrock vs Royce Gracie (#2) Ken Shamrock clearly won but it was declared a tie but this was because there were no decisions/judges then. I just felt like pointing this one out. Bas Rutten vs Kevin Randleman Randleman CLEARLY won but judges gave it to Bas Rutten because of his immense popularity. Machida vs Shogun (#1) Clear robbery. BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar (#1) A judge gave all 5 rounds to Edgar. What fight was he watching? Lyoto vs Rampage Lyoto CLEARLY won this one. He did way more damage and he's the only one that significantly won a round. Rounds should be able to be declared ties. Its silly to give someone a 10-9 over his opponent simply because he landed an extra jab.
Nam did get robbed. Leonard did land a takedown or two but he did not advance in position at all. Nam outstruck garcia the whole fight. I'm still split on the Lyoto fight but You have to give it to rampage since he was the aggressor throughout the whole fight. thats all I can say here since i already talked about this on a mma forum
I think he deserves more respect than he gets. He upset BJ Penn (whom I named my forum alias after) TWICE. The second time was decisively, too.
Well BJ doesn't belong at Lightweight anyway, let Franky have it. Tell the welterweights it's time to be very fucking afraid. Anyone see BJ's last fight? My man brought it home with the right hook in 20 fucking seconds. No one can box OR grapple with BJ at 170 and he know's it.
Matt Hughes is way beyond his prime and it was clearly a case of mismatching. Why doesn't BJ Penn belong at lightweight? That's where he started out. In 170, he's smaller than the other guys. Also, BJ Penn has been beaten multiple times at welterweight. He lost to GSP twice. While for the first fight, you could argue that BJ Penn did more damage, GSP made Penn's corner throw in the towel during the second fight. Matt Hughes, in his prime, also beat BJ Penn at welterweight. I'm a BJ Penn fan but there's no way he's dominating that division.

If two fighters need a rubber match they need a rubber match. I agree that he's past his prime though. I think that at lightweight BJ doesn't have the stamina and power that he does at 170, Joe voiced the same concerns in the last Franky fight. BJ looked crisp and clean as hell against Matt, as I'm sure you saw. We didn't see that against Franky at all. His technical boxing and power weren't there because he's a natural welter. And you're right, I worded that wrong, he's not going to dominate. But he's a serious contender. He could bang with GSP or Kos anyway. Anyway, that's just my opinion.
meh.. I just don't like the way Frankie fights, he's all quirky and just moves around and the judges for some reason give him points for that. He'll probably beat Maynard, but I think Ben Henderson will win it all. UFC 124 this weekend.. Koscheck doesn't stand a chance against GSP in Montreal..
Yeah. Even someone like Koscheck would feel bullied when the whole arena is cheering, zealously, for your opponent.
How can you say that BJ doesn't belong in that class? BJ has dominated that LW division up until he fought Edgar. Sometimes mismatches happen. Don't think that anyone can't box or grapple with BJ at WW. Fighters like Condit, Hathaway, Rumble Johnson, Kampmann, Kim, and Ludwig could all stand up with him. BJ will be the lighter of that weight class too. People can grapple with BJ at ww like a fitch or a koscheck and shields. We'll see how Penn does against Fitch their next fight though

Of course he'll get more fights in the UFC. He won TuF finale (although not officially); the reward is getting into the UFC.
