http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2 ... er-protest This was a little funny. After activists raised awareness of canned reindeer being sold, online sales went crazy. I must admit, the novelty of it is tempting...
i would assume it tastes very similar to venison.. venison usually tastes like beef.. i love trying exotic meats so would have loved this
I tasted deer today, I think it might be similar? It was white tailed deer...taste like beef but slightly sweet. Very very slightly, leaves a sweet aftertaste too. I didnt like it as much as my grandparents.
I think there are some creatures that just shouldn't be eaten, and reindeer are one of them (to me at least). Maybe that's just because I associate them with x-mas. I suspect it would be a bit game-y unless it were prepared well. Given that the stuff they are selling is canned, I doubt it is particularly high quality.
I don't eat reindeer nor do I endorse it, but activists failed once again by not keeping it low profile...
Here's what I have to say about this: If I was starving and had nothing else to eat, I would eat it. If it came to my dog or cat, I wouldn't eat it. I would let them track down a meal for me to eat lol. I could go on and on about this subject, but I'm sure nobody wants to hear anymore of my opinions.
To be truly honest with you, if we eat animals like cows, chickens and pig then why not things like reindeer? Then let's think of this as if someone was murdering people, We have someone random living in a town who got murdered. It goes on the news blah blah. Then if a celebrity was killed: John Lennon, It goes on the news for ages and REALLY stirs people up. So I live in Australia, one of our native animals is a Koala, If I were to eat one in a sandwich or something i public people would be so disgusted but no one cares that there's a dead pig on my sandwich do they? I really think we should be eating everything or nothing at all.
