I am not much of a big fan, but my younger brother enjoys playing, and his birthday is coming up, which do you recommend I get him?
How old is your brother? If he's under 15, I'd get him MW3 so he can be with more of his peers. Younger players usually don't have the patience for BF3. As for graphics? BF3 Wins hands down.
He is 12, I always thought the graphics on MW3 where better, and well the graphics is what he is really into
If he's 12, and you don't mind him being exposed to violence, get him MW3. BF3 has better graphics, but it's a game intended for more mature gamers. It requires patience and tactics: you can't just run around with a grenade launcher. (However, the graphics in BF3 are much better than MW3 graphics. Animations, textures, maybe not voice acting... the BF3 campaign wasn't that terrific, MW3's was pretty good) Oh, and make sure he has Xbox Live. It's pretty expensive, but it's a must if hes going to play CoD.
Has he played CoD Black Ops on Xbox Live? If he has DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get MW3. The online is terrible. I haven't played BF3 but Id rather play that than mw3 online
^This Except that it makes sense you haven't played BF3: if you had, you'd know the learning curve on that game is soo much steeper than MW3. I doubt a 12 year old is going to find it enjoyable when every time he gets into a jet he crashes and is then cursed out by his team. Or maybe that's what they are into these days... :O
From personal experience going from Black Ops to BF3 was a pretty difficult transition because the bullet mechanics are on opposite sides of the spectrum. In COD in general: Bullets travel at the speed of light, and will end up exactly where you point them. I'm not joking either. In battlefield: Bullets actually take time to travel to its target (meaning you have to lead targets that are moving) and gravity takes into account (meaning you have to aim higher when shooting at longer distances) I can picture like 13 year olds trying to play battlefield and try to shoot at enemies only to have the bullets hit at the targets feet and rage quit.
